*BeepBeepBeepBeep* I woke up to the alarm screaming in my ear. I quickly turned it off and jumped out of bed. It was six thirty and I surprisingly had a lot of energy. I walked out my room to check on Jake so I know that he's awake. I made it down the hallway and knocked twice on Jake's door. He didn't answer so I walked in. He was still sound asleep in his bed.

"Jake!" I yelled, "time to get up."

He mumbled something under his breath and covered his head with his cover. I pulled the cover off of his bed. He sat up with his eyes still closed and said in a whisper so low I could barely hear him, "Just five more minutes."

"You're gonna be late and if you're late that means i'm gonna be late too and I can't be late." I said walking across his video game covered floor and opening his blue and green striped curtains. When I turned around Jake was sleep again.

So I climbed up on his bed and started jumping and yelling, "Get up! Get up! Get up! It's time for school!"

"Ok ok, I'm up." he said pulling the cover off of him.

I was still jumping up and down on his bed when he stood up and pushed me off. I fell off the bed and onto the floor. Then I felt an excruciating pain in my left leg. I yelped in pain and sat up so I could see what I landed on. I lifted my leg up and found out that the pain I witnessed came from a broken piece of glass.

Why in the hell is glass in his room? We're not supposed to leave dishes in our rooms. If Mom find out she's never going to let us eat in our rooms again. And what idiot would break some glass and not clean it up if you know you can cut yourself and someone else. I looked up at Jake and he had a sorry expression on his face. "I'm sooo sorry." He drew out the word 'so' which let me know how sorry he really was. "Jamie, uh, you're bleeding."

I looked down at my leg and a little blood was dripping off of the piece of glass that was still stuck in my leg. I tried to pull the glass out but it hurt too much. "On the count of three I want you to pull it out, but wait til I count to three. Not one or two but three."

"Ok, I get it." He said climbing off of his bed and sitting on the floor next to me, "Not one, not two, but three."

I closed me eyes and started counting. "One...two..." And before I could even say three I felt Jake pull the glass out of my leg. I had to bite my bottom lip to keep myself from yelling out in pain. I opened my eyes. "I told you to wait til I get to three not right before I'm about to say it." I said through clenched teeth.

I looked down at my leg and was more than happy to see that the cut was not as big and deep as I thought it was.

"But you were just about to say it."

"I don't care if I was just about to say it. I said wait until I say it." His face looked hurt. His blue eyes get huge and round when he's sad. And I hate to see him sad. "Ugh, just forget it. Remember my motto?"

"You can't move on if you're holding on to the past." He recited.

"Good, now go bring me a bandaid." I said.

He came back with the bandaid and handed it to me. I put the bandaid on my leg and stood up. It stung really bad but after a while I'm not going to be able to feel it. "Alright, you need to hurry up and get dressed so that we won't be late for school." I started to walk out the door but turned back and said, "Oh, and don't forget to pick up any glass you see, but be careful."

I got dressed quickly in blue skinny jeans, a black V neck shirt, and my all black converse shoes. I looked at myself in my full body mirror, which is standing to the right of my room door.

I let my hair stay down because Mom says that I look prettier with my hair down. I don't have time to put on makeup, so I put my makeup bag in my book bag so I can put it on when I get to school.
