"We're five minutes away." Aunt Elizabeth said. "I can't wait for you to meet everyone. You know Elilah always asked about you. Since there's no other girl around her age, she always has her friends over. She's your age."
"I remember." I said looking out the window. We were in Aunt Elizabeth's car on our way to her house. I was in the passenger seat and Jake was in the back seat sleeping.
Something in my head kept telling me that I need to relax. Then I realized it wasn't something in my head, it was Aunt Elizabeth. "Relax, you're going to fit in just fine. There's no reason for them not to like you. Look, we're here."
The car slowed down and we stopped in front of a giant house. It was only two stories, but was still huge. It looked big enough for me to get lost in. The house was white with navy blue shutters. "You're telling me you live here?" I said in awe.
"Jamie, you live here now. This is your house too." Aunt Elizabeth said. The house was gorgeous. It looks like a house that I always wanted to live in but never could. And now I have that chance, but only because of the death of my parents.
"Aunt Elizabeth, this house is gorgeous." I said getting out of the car. She got out the car too.
"I have to give you something." She said holding up a red box.
"What is it?" I asked taking the box.
"Open it and see." She said. I slowly opened the box and inside was a beautiful locket. It looked just like my Mom's. The chain and locket was silver. The locket was in the shape of a heart and had little swirls on it. I opened the heart and on one side was a picture of my Mom and Dad, and the other side was a picture of me when I was a baby. "It was your Mom's. She wanted you to have it." Aunt Elizabeth took the locket from me and clasped it around my neck. I pulled my hair to one side so she can see better.
She stepped back and admired the locket. "It's beautiful, and so are you." She said.
"Thank you." I said looking down at the locket hanging from my neck.
"Um, do you want me to wake Jake up?" She asked.
I pulled my eyes off the beauty of the locket and looked into the car. Jake was still sound asleep. He was laying down across the back seat. He looked so peaceful and I didn't want to wake him up. "No, he needs his sleep. We can just take him to his room." I said opening the car door.
"You don't have to go through the trouble of picking him up. I can call Ethan to come get him if you want me too." Aunt Elizabeth insisted.
"No, I can do it. He's not that heavy anyways." I said picking Jake up, careful to not wake him up. Aunt Elizabeth closed the car door. Then I followed her to the front door of the house.
The door was glass but it had a sort of pattern on it so you couldn't see clearly in their house. Aunt Elizabeth turned the doorknob to find the door already unlocked.
I walked into the house and saw that the inside looked as gorgeous as the outside did. Hanging from the ceiling was the most beautiful chandelier I've ever seen. To my right was a dining room with one of those long tables that I thought was only in movies or mansions or castles.
"We only eat in there on special occasions. We'll be eating in there tonight." Aunt Elizabeth said. "Here, let me show you where to take Jake then we'll find everyone else. They're most likely in the pool."
"You have a pool?" I said in excitement.
She nodded and started walking to the stairs. When we made it to the top of the stairs we turned right and walked halfway down the hall then stopped at a door to our left. Aunt Elizabeth opened the door and I walked in. The room was a little bigger than Jake's room back in New York.
