I observed myself in the mirror. Elilah was forcing me to wear the blue dress and silver heels we got from the mall yesterday. Well, she's not really forcing me to wear the dress because I want to wear it, it's just too cute. But the heels are another thing.

The last time I wore heels I went to my Mom's friend's wedding two years ago. I had to wear a knee length hot pink dress with a big black bow around the waist. My Mom made me wear four inch high black heels.

At the dinner party this really cute guy asked me to dance, and of course I couldn't say no. A slow song was on and we were dancing. But the thing was I kept stepping on his toes and I almost fell like ten times. When the song was over I told him sorry and walked back to my table. But on my way back to my table I tripped and twisted my ankle.

I never really liked heels in the first place. But I guess I'll have to get used to it.

I was just finishing curling my hair when someone knocked on my door. "Come in." I said.

When I turned to the door Jake was standing there. He was wearing black pants and a red button up shirt with his black jacket and book bag on. "Hey," I said walking to him, "How are you?"

"Scared." He said gripping tight onto his book bag strap.

"I'm scared too, I'm scared about a lot of things. I'm scared about not fitting in at school. I'm scared about things never being the same as they used to be. I'm scared about you, about us, having to grow up without our parents. I know I shouldn't be so selfish about it because Nathan, Kaiden, and Kaylen had to grow up without their parents." I walked up to him and have him a hug. "Jake, I love you so much."

"I love you too." He said wrapping his arms around me. "But promise me something."

"What is it?" I said pulling back and looking him in the eye.

"Promise me you won't wear so much perfume, my eyes are burning." He said laughing and rubbing his eyes.

I laughed, "Oh, sorry, I guess I over did it."

"Yeah, by a lot." He took a look at me, "Why are you so dressed up? You know we're just going to school, right?"

"Yes, I know we're going to school. And Elilah made me wear this. She said that all the girls dress like this. Do you like it?" I asked looking at myself in the mirror again.

"Yes, the blue matches our eyes." Jake said walking to my bed and sitting down. "Do you think they will like me?"

"Who?" I asked sitting next to him.

"The kids at school, do you think they will like me?" Jake asked.

"Of course they will like you, everyone likes you here. Isn't Kaiden and Kaylen in your grade?" I asked.

"Yeah, they're really supposed to be in fourth grade but they started late." Jake said.

"See, you already have two people in your class that you already know. You're going to be fine." I reassured him, "Did you eat breakfast yet?"

Jake stood up and walked to the door, "No, I'm gonna go eat now. I love you." He said walking out my room.

"Love you too." He's going to be okay, I thought to myself. I walked into my bathroom to put on some makeup. You can barely call it makeup because all I put on was a little eyeliner and mascara. I don't need all that other stuff, it's just too much to think about. Even though I have it, I never really use it. The only makeup I use daily is lipstick, lipgloss, eyeliner, mascara, and sometimes eyeshadow.

Speaking of eyeshadow, I dug around in my makeup bag to find my light blue eyeshadow. I put on a little eyeshadow then put all of my makeup back in the bag. I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror.
