The stares kept coming and by the end of the day there was a rumor going around that Marc and I were dating. During Phys Ed, Marc and I were talking during the whole period. Our kickball team kept getting mad at us for not paying attention.

"Jamie!" Coach yelled. "Why don't you and your friend take a lap." Coach Foster has a serious stick us his ass today.

He made Marc and I run a lap around this giant field about the size of three football fields side by side. But that didn't stop us from talking.

I found out that his mom's job promotion wasn't the only reason why he moved here. Her relationship also had a promotion. I didn't even know it before but Marc's mom was in a long distance relationship and he so happened to live here. What a coincidence, I know.

"So now you have a step sister. How old is she?" I asked.

Marc wiped the sweat off his forehead. "She's eleven." He said. "She goes to Rosewood Middle School."

I smiled. Jake would be going there in three years. I haven't spent some alone time with Jake in a while. I've been so caught up in myself to even think about it.

"What's her name?" I could barely get the words out because I was so out of breath. That's why I can never do a sport with a lot of running.

"Paulina," he said, "But everyone calls her Lina."

"That's a cute name." I said. After we ran our lap the game of kickball was over. My team still ended up winning even with two less people.

"Can you and your boyfriend find other places to talk because it almost cost us the game." Heaven said walking up to us with her pet, Brittany, following her.

I snorted. She got a lot of nerve coming up to me talking about almost costing them a game. "Like you care." I said. "I still did more than you did in half the time."

"Whatever, whore," she smirked. "You just keep jumping from guy to guy, don't you?" This girl is seriously asking for my fist in her face. "First it was Luke, then it was Adam, and now it's the new boy. He hasn't even been here a day and you're all over him."

I clenched my hands into fists to stop myself from scratching her eyeballs out. That way she won't know what's happening when I push her off a building. I stepped closer to where I was only three inches away from her face. "First of all, I was never with Luke. He was your play toy but you are to much of a bitch he had to dump you." I stepped closer making her step back. "Second of all, there is nothing between me and Adam. And third of all, Marc isn't my boyfriend."

She opened her mouth to say something but I stopped her. "So if you would get your facts straight and stop sticking your ass in other people's business all the time you wouldn't be standing here looking stupid." I smiled then walked away.

I was proud of myself for doing that. I didn't need anyone else to stand up for me. I did it myself.

Marc followed and caught up with me. "I'm guessing you and her aren't friends." he said stating the obvious.

I shook my head. "Not one bit." After Coach Foster dismissed us and I changed back into my clothes I met up with Marc in the parking lot. "I have volleyball practice until five, do you want to come over then?"

"I have to finish unpacking but hopefully I'll be done by then." He said.

Then I realized something. "How are you getting home?" I asked.

He smiled then led me to a gorgeous black and white Mustang. "My new step dad paid for it." He said with a huge grin on his face. "He said that a boy my age should have a nice car then he bought this for me."
