We were in the taxi driving somewhere. I don't know where we were going, Aunt Elizabeth probably told the taxi driver where to go when I went to go get Jake. We've been in this taxi for about thirty minutes now, and I have no clue where we are going.

Aunt Elizabeth seemed more normal now. She was laughing and smiling and talking. But she's holding something back. There's something she's not telling us. Every time I asked her what was wrong she either ignored me or said that she would tell me later.

She wouldn't stop crying and being sad earlier, and now that Jake's in the car she's acting like nothing is wrong. But something is wrong, I can see it in her eyes. I can tell it has something to do with Mom and Dad because every time someone mentioned their name she cringed.

I looked out the window and thought. I tried to put all the pieces together. Aunt Elizabeth was here not even a day after she gave birth to Elliot, which made no sense at all if she was just coming to visit. My Mom and Dad haven't called to tell me that they landed, like they told me they would. Seth mentioned something about a plane crash earlier. Aunt Elizabeth cringes every time someone mentions Mom or Dad.

As much as I hate for it to be true, I know it's true. All the clues point to it. My Mom and Dad were in that plane crash. It's the only explanation. Well, the only one that makes sense to me right now.

Then we arrived at the hospital and I knew that it really was true. And it hurt me so bad, it felt like I was being shot right in the gut.

I looked at Aunt Elizabeth and she must have saw the pain, horror, and confusion in my blue eyes because she nodded her head as a way of telling me it's all true. My parents were in that plane crash and know they were at this hospital either dead or seriously injured. And I needed to know now if they were still alive.

As soon as the taxi stopped in front of the hospital, I jumped out and ran into the doors. It was really crowded in the hospital. Peo People were crying, yelling at nurses and doctors, pacing back and forth, talking on the phone about what's happening. It's complete chaos in here.

I walked up to the front counter and was face to face with a very attractive man. He looked like he was twenty-three. He had blonde hair, gray eyes, and an amazing smile. "Hey, I'm Kevin," he said pointing to the pin stuck in his shirt. "What may I do for you?"

"How old are you?" I blurted out before I could stop myself.

He looked confused but he still had that amazing smile on his face. "Twenty-two, why?"

"Oh, I was just wondering because you are really cute...Omigosh, did I really just say that?" I felt my face get warm and could tell I was turning red. His smile was even wider now showing most of his perfect teeth. "Anyways, that's beside the point. Do you happen to have any patients by the name of Jessica and Henry Valentine?" Just saying their name made me sad.

"Let me check." He typed some things into the computer and clicked around on things. Then his smile fades but not completely. "Are you a relative?"

I nodded. "I'm their daughter."

"Jamie, why did you run out on us?" Aunt Elizabeth said walking toward me.

"I need to know." I said sounding as if I was about to cry.

"You could've asked me. I explained everything to Jake. And he took it much better than I did." She said.

I looked down at Jake and saw a couple tears roll down his cheeks. I bent down to his eye level and wiped the tears off his face. I hugged him then pulled back. "Is it that bad?" I asked him. He nodded his head.

I stood up and faced Kevin. His smile was long gone now. "Kevin, this is my little brother, Jake Valentine." I said pointing to Jake. "My aunt, Elizabeth Harris." I pointed to her. "And I'm Jamie Valentine. And I would really like to see my parents now." I felt a few tears roll down my face but quickly wiped them away. I have to be strong for Jake.
