I don't know why it took so long to get my parents funeral together but it did. We had the funeral on Sunday, September 29. Two weeks and six days after they died.

Surprisingly, a lot of people came. I had tons of cousins that I didn't know existed. Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Larry invited some friends. I, of coarse, invited Anthony and Ashleigh. Anthony's younger sisters, Clara and Ashlee, came because they were invited by Essaiyah and Emmanuel.

I actually think Ashlee and Emmanuel are a thing because that are always hanging out with each other. I almost caught them about to kiss once when they claim they were studying.

When the funeral was over I basically stayed in my room. I didn't feel like interacting with anyone, so every time someone came knocking on my door asking me if I wanted to do something I rejected them. The only time I didn't reject someone was when Elilah asked me if I wanted to go get some ice cream with her at Riley's Diner.

I've only been there twice since I was here and they have the best chocolate Oreo smoothie I have ever tasted. I couldn't turn that down. Riley's Diner is only a ten minute walk from here so Ethan refused to give us the keys to the truck.

The last time I checked Elilah had her license but I guess he didn't want to risk anything. So instead we asked to use Aunt Elizabeth's car. And that's how we got stuck with having to bring Emily with us. She heard the word ice cream and wouldn't stop having a tantrum until we agreed to bring her with us.

When we got to Riley's diner we found a booth in the far corner by the window so we could see into the parking lot. I already knew what I was going to get. The chocolate Oreo smoothie. Elilah wanted the strawberry banana smoothie. Emily just asked for chocolate and strawberry ice cream.

The waitress came and asked what we were getting and Elilah ordered. "One strawberry banana smoothie, one chocolate Oreo smoothie, and a bowl of chocolate and strawberry ice cream."

"Me want two scoops of chocolate and two scoops of strawberry." Emily said to the waitress.

"She'll just get one scoop of each." Elilah said.

The waitress smiled and flipped her brown hair out of her face. "Will that be all?" She asked.

"No," Emily said with a frown on her face, "Me want two scoops."

"Yes that'll be all." Elilah said ignoring Emily. "Oh, and can she get one of those coloring menus and some crayons?"

"Of coarse." The waitress said then left. She came back a minute later with the menu and a small box with three crayons in it.

"Here, Em. You can draw on this." Elilah handed the menu and crayons to Emily.

"Your order will be ready shortly." The waitress said then walked off.

Emily still sat there pouting because she didn't get what she wanted. "Hey Em, how about if you cheer up then I'll get you two scoops next time." I said.

Her big blue eyes looked up at me. "You promise?" She asked.

"I promise." I said.

A couple minutes later our order came. I wish there was a Riley's Diner in New York because I am in love with this chocolate Oreo smoothie.

"Jamie, can I ask you something?" Elilah asked after taking a sip of her smoothie.

"Depends on what the question is. Is it about my parents?" I said not looking up at her.

"No," She chuckled, "It's about Adam and Friday night."

Adam? Friday Night? "Oh." I said in realization of what she was talking about. That night was still a blur and I promise that never again will any alcoholic drink ever go down my throat.
