"Michael, you're getting good at the guitar."
"I know. It's because I have a smoking teacher." He said.
Ever since I started teaching Michael how to play the guitar, he would throw compliments at me like it was his job to do so.
"I'm flattered you think that." I said, "Now back to the guitar."
I gave Michael lessons every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after volleyball practice. If I didn't have practice then I would do it after school. Sometimes I would come on Saturdays if I had nothing to do.
We practiced about two hours each of those days. The days that I don't teach him, he's supposed to practice on his own. And it seems like he has been doing that because he's much better now than he was when I first started teaching him.
After I was done teaching him I waited on Elilah to come pick me up. I really needed to get my license. I'm tired of having to depend on other people to give me rides places.
I was sitting on the living room couch texting Maddie when Adam walked in.
"Hey Princess." He said.
I signed and shook my head. "Please don't start using Luke's pet name for me."
He sat down on the couch next to me. He was nice enough to leave an appropriate amount of space between us. "Ok. I'll call you Tiger."
I took my eyes away from my phone and looked at him. "No. Why?" I whined
"Because you're fierce and ambitious like one."
"In that case I'm gonna call you Lion."
Adam smiled. "Because I'm strong and brave like them?"
I laughed. "No, because you're lazy like them. You sit back and do nothing while the females go out and get your food and bring it back to you." I said after his mom brought him a turkey and chicken sandwich cut right down the middle.
He smiled, "I know how to cook thank you very much." He picked up half the sandwich and bit into it. Just looking at the sandwich made my mouth water. I was hungry and Elilah was taking her slow time to come pick me up.
"Here." Adam said holding his other half of sandwich to me. "You've been staring at it for the last thirty seconds."
I looked back and forth between the sandwich and him then decided to take the half sandwich. "Thank you, Lion." I said.
He smiled, "You're welcome, Tiger." He replied.
I looked at the time on my phone and it was past seven o'clock. I sighed and Adam noticed my frustration. "What's wrong?" He asked.
I bit into the sandwich. "Elilah is taking forever to come pick me up."
"I can take you home, Tiger."
"And I would be happy to let you, Lion." I stood up and grabbed my bags. "Let's go."
I followed Adam out to his car. He opened the passenger door and closed it after I climbed in. He went around and climbed into the drivers seat.
I watched him as he started the car and pulled out of the drive way. Adam is different than I would have expected. He's sweet, nice, polite (sometimes), and funny. I would have expected him to act like Luke, but he doesn't.
In fact, he's nothing like Luke. Luke is an egotistical bastard who cares about no one other than himself. Adam is better off without someone like Luke in his life. Luke is bad for Adam's ego.
I watched as Adam drove. He was so cute with his stunning green eyes, and soft black hair. Wait, what am I thinking? I'm sitting over here daydreaming about Adam Davis. I don't like him. I can't possibly like him. I like Marcus.
