14 - Last(ing) One

"Daya ni King Archer, dinitch tayo. Maybe we should've scheduled a night out.", Arnold said as he spread the butter over his pancakes.

"Mas lalo yung hindi sasama. He's too busy for the upcoming exhibit. Gagabihin nga raw siya ngayon for the prep eh. Looks like we're gonna lose, bro.", I responded before taking a mouthful of bacon.

Arnold just shrugged.

Today marks the last day of the bet. Hindi ko na nga binring up kay Jeron ulit kasi mukhang walang magaganap na aminan ngayon. He said he's gonna be out the whole day and Mika will just be in school.

What could happen?

"What's important is that he's good friends with Mika now, right? At least good start yun.", Arnold shared.

"Tama ka. Mika saved his Angkong's life. His grandparents are rooting for her, of course. Jeron now couldn't afford to stick with his original plan. And even if it needs more than a month, malakas talaga kutob that they'll be more than friends."

"And when that happens... Ano sa tingin mo? Would it be good... Or bad? We both know our brother doesn't want to get married. Labo nun eh."

Napaisip ako sa tanong ni Arnold. Ano nga kaya kung magkatotoo yung dalawa? Would that be enough to convince Jeron about getting married? And how would Mika react if she finds out that he's her fiancee?

"Until all secrets have been disclosed, Jeron will remain in deep trouble. Kasi sa kanilang dalawa, siya ang mas may alam. He's the one who's gonna come out as a liar."

"So... How are we gonna help him?", Arnold asked.

I took a sip of my Americano.

"Hayaan muna natin. You know him. I bet magugulat na lang tayo one day he'll ask for help to prepare a date or something. Buti pa, ako na lang tulungan mo.", sagot ko sa kanya.

"Ano na naman, nagpagupit na nga kami oh. And I must say, they did a good job.", he said as a matter of fact.

"I told you. Ara has a great team. Change hair color ka naman.", I urged him and he looked back at me like I have grown three heads.

"You say Jeron's in trouble? You're in deeper trouble, bro.", he remarked.

"Kelan pa naging trouble ang love?", I answered back.

He shook his head.

"Thomas Torres, you're hopeless."

"Romantic."

"Malala ka na."

I could only respond with a smile as I finished the last bacon strip on my plate.

"Sarap sa feeling!"

I knew it.

Today's gonna be a looonnnggg day.

And I'm not just referring to our chapter test in Neuro, na hindi ko alam kung papasa ako, HUHUHU

Ngayon hindi ko rin alam kung paano ako magpapaalam kay Miss Kelly that I'm gonna be absent on my second day.

ON MY SECOND DAY.

Bale sa ganito naipon ang warnings ko in my last job. Ugh. Yung next dito, termination.
