"Bro, guess what?"
Arnold called early in the morning.
"What? This better be good. Inaantok pa ako.", I answered over the phone.
"Ano ka ba! This is awesome! May raket ako para sayo! Big time 'to! Resto opening! Nirecommend kitang photog!"
"Wow... That's great! Kelan 'to?"
"Next next Friday. Ano, G ka?"
"Ahh... Nako, sorry bro. Wrong timing. Hindi ako pwede eh..."
"What?! Bakit? Sayang naman! Malaking kikitain mo dito. Can't you clear that day for this?"
"I can't. I have a really important schedule."
"Are you sure? Ikaw rin."
"Yep, I'm sure. Thanks bro."
"Alright, good luck with your work!"
I stared at my phone calendar the moment the call ended. And there it is, my one very important appointment.
Nov. 27 (Friday)
Event: Nathan's 7th Birthday
I still can't believe I got to talk to Mika's mother yesterday. She is genuine and kind, as a matter of fact. And if Mika only knew, Tita Bhaby misses her so much.

"Upo ka."
And so I did.
"I'm surprised you came here, Jeron. First time nating magkita in person, tama ba?", she asked.
"Uhm... Opo... Kasi po-"
"Kasi hindi natuloy yung meet up dinner niyo ng anak ko noon. We've sent our apologies to your parents way back. But I felt na kailangan din naming humingi ng tawad sayo. Kaya lang nalaman naming umalis ka rin pala sa inyo."
"Ah... Opo... At wala pong kaso yun, Mrs. Reyes-"
"Tita Bhaby na lang."
"Tita Bhaby. In all honesty, I didn't take it against Mika po. I'm not saying it's right to leave home pero napabilib niya po talaga ako sa ginawa niya. I mean, I was against the decision, too. But I chose to just go with the flow that night."
A smile formed on her radiant face.
"Alam mo yung anak kong yun, matindi manindigan yun. Kapag buo na yung prinsipyo sa kanya, hindi niya talaga babaliin. Sayang nga at hindi kayo nagkita.", may lungkot niyang sabi.
"Actually, Tita... Magkakilala po kami.", pag-amin ko.
"Ano?! Magkakilala kayo ng anak ko?"
Sasabihin ko bang dinayo ko talaga kung saan siya nakatira?
Hindi, wag muna siguro.
"We're... We're neighbors po.", I responded.
Tita Bhaby's eyes widened at my answer.
