39 - Changes in the Night

I admit na nag-panic ako sa theory ni Ara.

I mean, oo, asawa ko si Jeron. Pero sa papel lang. There's also the "No third party" rule pero hindi naman ibig sabihing unbreakable yun.

He can still see other girls basta walang makakakita sa kanila. And where could they do that??? Siyempre sa office! When everybody's already out.

He's a guy after all and he has needs. Na hindi ko kayang ibigay.

Since masyadong obvious kung bigla na lang akong susugod doon ng walang agenda, umuwi muna ako sa bahay to cook something for him.

I decided to cook Pork Sinigang. Yung super asim, the way he likes it.

I had the same meal for an early dinner then packed his food afterwards. When I checked the clock, it's 6 PM. May oras pa ako.

I took a shower, changed my clothes and brought everything I need with me. Nag-drive ako papuntang RBC and arrived a little past 7 PM.

Pagdating ko sa floor, wala na akong nadatnang tao. For sure si Mama maagang umuwi. Dumaan ako sa cubicle ni Ms. Angel pero wala na rin siya doon.

I walked slowly towards Jeron's office as my heart beat faster with every step.

Whew!

Bakit ako kinakabahan?

Eh paano kung may makita kang hindi mo gusto?

No, Jeron's not that type of man. Right?

I shook my head, trying to erase my thoughts.

I walked quietly to his room until finally, I reached his door.

Kakatok ba ako o papasok na lang?

Kumatok ka, Ye. Respeto din, diba.

Pero paano kung may kalokohan siya sa loob? Edi hindi ko siya mahuhuli.

Ay wow, baka nakakalimutan mo, ikaw ang may atraso sa kanya. Overthinker ka kasi. And selosa, if I may add.

Ano ba self, tama na please. Hindi na nga ako makapag-decide eh.

What if umuwi na lang ako?

I think that's the best option. No harm in that.

Sayang naman pagluluto mo. Saka para saan pa na na-realize mong mahal ka niya kung di mo naman siya kayang ipaglaban?

I let out a heavy sigh.

Ganito na lang. Pumasok ka, iwan mo yung food, tapos umuwi ka na.

I held the paper bag tightly and turned the knob.

I saw Jeron seated behind his table with a surprised look on his face.

Seconds after, bumukas din yung pinto ng private restroom sa office niya and it's my turn to get surprised.
