Be sure to carefully read the Intro, Rules and Q&A pages before going any farther.Have you ever read a Newberry Medal book? This challenge is to encourage young writers to read the Newberry Medal books. I'm not saying the young writers need to read every single Newbery book out there. Even as an adult I can admit some are dreadfully dull and I wouldn't pick up to read. Some though like The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle are stories young writer's should pick up and read. For every fictional Newberry Medal book you've read write a crossover fanfic with another fandom of your choicewhich is at least a thousand words. Non-fictional Newberry books are not alowed Beyond that you're allowed to do as you please, but preferably the stories should be a one-shot.
What are the rules?
1. Follow all the rules put down under the rules section.
2. All stories must be a new story you've never published before.
3. Tag your stories with the proper category tag, fandom tags, newberry-cross-streets.
4. Don't write a story for a fandom unless you've read the book
5. You're limited to one story per fandom per Newberry book.
6. Limit one Newberry book and one other fandom for each crossover.
Note: I know rule number four is going to frustrate some with reading disabilities as it is easier to watch an adaption of the book. I'm not making an exception though as the main point of this challenge is to push ones reading ability and not just ones writing ability.
Banned Fandoms: Non-fiction Newberry books are not allowed to be used for this challenge.
Bonus Challenges: None.
