I wake up to my alarm. I haven't quite opened my eyes yet. I reach my hand out from under my comforter and try to turn off my alarm. I turn it off and groan.
I turn over in bed and I realize something.
"It's my parents anniversary!" I say shooting my eyes wide open.
I jump out of bed and start getting ready. I put on my dress and a pair of black, 2 inch heals. The party doesn't start till noon and its 7:00 am now.
Once I'm completely dressed and ready for the party I grab my binder and the gift Raylan and I got our parents.
Once I get down to the pit I see Raylan and the gang. I also see their parents.
"Let's get started." I say
With that everyone takes off to get the decorations and everything. Raylan apparently told them that I'm in charge and if they have questions, come talk to me.
I have my binder open and ready. The guys role in the tables and bring out the chairs. The girls carry in the boxes of decorations.
It's about 11:00 am when we finish. The food is set and ready, the decorations are done, we did a sound check already, and we are all set.
Zander goes to where the sound booth is and starts playing music.
After about thirty minutes of all of us talking, the girls fixing hair and make up, and the guys changing from work clothes to more dressier clothes, people start to come in.
We sent Aunt Christina and Uncle Zeke to go get our parents. They left a few minutes ago because they needed to tell our parents to get dressed up.
I look at my watch 11:58 am. Everyone is here except our parents. They should be here any minute now.
Everyone is waiting facing the area they will walk through. Even Uncle Caleb is here. He is standing on my left side and Raylan is standing on my right side.
I look at my watch 11:59 am. Any second now. I have the gift in my hands and we are all ready. I look around and everyone is getting excited.
I look at my watch 12:00 pm. Any second now. Then I see Christina and Zeke walk in with my parents behind them.
"HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!" We all yell to them.
Raylan and I run up to our parents and give them hugs.
"Thank you so much." Mom says happily in my ear.
"You're welcome." I say
I move over to my dad and give him a hug. Since I'm my moms height I'm still short compared to him even with 2 inch heals.
"Thank you Taylor." Dad says
"You're welcome." I say
After Raylan and I step back, we hand them the gift we got them.
They open it and they seem quite happy about it.
"What's this?" Mom asks
"It's an all expense paid stay for one week at one of the best hotels in the city." Raylan says
"Plus dinner reservations for four of those nights." I say "We have already talked to your bosses and you both have that week off. You leave tomorrow and come back next Sunday."
"That's awesome. Thank you guys so much." Dad says
"Yes, thank you." Mom says
"You're welcome." Raylan and I say in unison.
Mom and dad come and hug us again and then we start the party.
I watch my parents mingle with other people and I smile. So far this is perfect.
