Chapter 10

"Apparently we both haven't." I say

After I say that it's silent.

"You should get back to your family." I say

"Yeah." He says "Bye Taylor."

"Bye." I say

He is almost out the door.

"Taren." I say

"What?" He asks

"It was good talking to you." I say

"It was good talking to you too." He says and walks out.

I stay in one spot and think about what just happened with Taren.

I felt at ease with Taren. I still love him. I didn't want to avoid talking with him. I don't want to avoid talking with him. I wish I could redo the last ten years even if it means I don't sing again.

I wake up taking a deep breath in. I have tears in my eyes and I see I have tear stains on my pillow.

I must have been thinking about Taren breaking up with me earlier when I fell asleep.

I try to fall back asleep, but I can't. I look at the clock. 6:58 am, my alarm will go off in two minutes. I turn off my alarm and I get out of bed just to turn on the lights, and I get back in bed.

After about thirty minutes of just laying in bed thinking about my dream, I hear a knock on my door

"Come in." I say

When I say that Kristen, Madison, Urina, and Lindsay come in.

"Hey." Madison says

"You wanna talk about it?" Lindsay asks

"We brought frozen yogurt." Urina says

I refuse and role over onto my side.

"It's chocolate and peanut butter." Kristen says

I reach my hand out so she can give it to me. I sit up when they give me the frozen yogurt and spoon. I take off the lid of the round, paper container and start eating it.

"How are you doing, Tay?" Lindsay asks

I sniffle.

"Upset." I say putting a spoonful of frozen yogurt in my mouth.

"Completely understandable." Urina says

"We talked with Tori and she said that you can take the day off." Kristen says

"Okay." I say

Kristen, Madison, Urina, and Lindsay just look at each other.

"She usually loves getting the day off. She's really upset." Lindsay says

"Should we call her parents and tell them what happened?" Madison asks

"No. They still have six more days." I say "They can't be disturbed. I'll tell them when they get back."

We sit there in silence for a few minutes.

"I just realized something." Madison says "Raylan and Shawn are really good friends of Taren. Raylan and Shawn are also protective of us. This should be interesting when they find out that Taren broke up with you."

"Yeah, it will be." I say putting another spoonful of yogurt in my mouth.

"We need to head to work." Urina says

"Are you going to be okay, Tay?" Kristen asks

I nod slowly.

After a minute of making sure I will be okay they leave.

I slowly eat the rest of the chocolate and peanut butter frozen yogurt. I think about the dream I had and hope it doesn't happen.
