"What?!" I almost yell.
This isn't good. This can't be good.
"We are still investigating this, but don't leave the Dauntless compound until we finish the investigation." Tori says
"I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but why?" I ask
"Because if Erudite really did hack into the fear landscape system, while you were in showing your divergence, bad things could come your way." She says "So no going on the roof, no going out on to any balconies, nothing outside. Got it?"
I nod my head yes in response.
"You may leave, I just wanted to give you a heads up." She says "There is also someone else taking your shift today, so don't worry about that. But you will be doing your shift tomorrow."
I nod again and leave.
I don't even know what to say to this. I'm in shock. I can't go outside. I'm guessing she said I can't go on balconies because if some Erudite spot me then they could come here and take me. This will be an interesting time with not being able to go outside.
I'm walking to my apartment when a little girl comes running up to me.
"Taylor Eaton! Taylor Eaton!" The little girl says excitedly.
I kneel down to her level.
"Yes." I say
"Can I have your autograph? I've been wanting to get one but I never had a notebook." She says kindly.
"What's your name sweetie?" I ask kindly.
"Diana." She says
I sign a page on her notebook, smile, and hand it back to her. She seems really happy.
"Thank you." She says smiling "When's your next performance?"
"Umm...I don't know." I say
"Oh ok." She says "Thank you again."
She runs off to her mom who is a little ways behind us. I stand up and continue to walk up to my apartment. That little girl is making me think about when I will perform again. Now that I think about it a few people have come up to me and asked when I was going to perform again.
I can't stay focused. I'm too concerned about whether the Erudite found out I am Divergent. This should be rather interesting considering initiation starts in a week. I will just have to explain this to Taren.
It's around 11:45 am. I've been laying on the couch thinking things over since 8:45 am. This is pathetic. I'm going over how the conversation with Taren and the rest of our friends will go.
I get up and walk to the cafeteria. I'm walking slower than I usually do, I don't know why. When I get to the cafeteria I see the whole gang is already there. I swear once you open the doors to the cafeteria it's so loud from all the talking.
"Long shift, Taylor?" Shawn questions once I sit down next to Taren.
"Actually I didn't have a shift today." I say
They all look at me in question. I explain to them what happened and what Tori told me.
"How am I supposed to do initiation with this if I can't go outside?" I ask
"Well, hopefully this will all be cleared up by then. If not than we will figure something out." Taren says
"Hopefully." I say
