Last night we all went zip lining again. Today, after work, I'm going with Kristen, Madison, Urina, and Lindsay to the tattoo parlor. We all decided to get a new tattoo.
We all look at the options available. We look at the glass plaques that are hung up. I know what I want I just don't know which version of it I want. After a few minutes of thinking which version I want, I finally decide what I want.
I take the glass plaque over to my mom. After a while I have the new tattoo I wanted. It's a feather on my inner upper arm.
Once I'm done I thank my mom and meet up with Taren. I'm wearing a solid black tank top to show off my new tattoo. I'm also wearing thick, black leggings, black combat boots, and my black leather vest.
I walk around with Kristen, Madison, Urina, and Lindsay for while. I walk to the control room to maybe find Taren. I don't find him, but dad, Uncle Zeke, and Uncle Uriah are here.
I stand in the open doorway. I look at my dad and ask him a question.
"Hey dad, have you seen Taren?" I ask kindly
"He just left. He got a message and then said that a family thing came up." Dad explains
"Do you know where he might be?" I ask
Dad just shakes his head.
"No, I'm sorry." He says
I start thinking. What could happen that was so important that he had to leave? Either someone died, or something else happened. That's probably what it is.
"Okay." I say turning around "See you later."
"Hey, Taylor," Dad says stopping me "I like the new tattoo."
"Thanks." I say and walk out.
I walk to my apartment and find a note on our door.

Had some family thing come up. My mom died and my dad isn't taking it very well. I don't blame him. Yes, I'm not big with my parents, but they're still family. I'll be back tonight and we can talk then.

Well, I have time to myself. Once I open the door I hear someone calling my name. It's Carter.
"Hey Five, some of us are going to play a game of Candor or Dauntless. You wanna join?" Carter asks walking up to me.
"Sure, I'll join." I say
We walk over to Scarlet's apartment.
"By the way, I like the new tattoo." Carter says
"Thanks." I say
"What does it represent?" She asks
"The feather represents freedom." I explain
"Cool." She says
We continue to walk to Scarlet's apartment in silence. We get to her apartment and I see a good size group of people: William, Hunter, Erin, Madison, Raylan, Shawn, Zander, Urina, Kristen, Wade, and Zander.
"Okay, for all of you who don't know how to play Candor or Dauntless, listen up." Shawn says "Someone will ask someone Candor or Dauntless, the person will do the thing, and if they don't, they have to take off a piece of clothing."
Carter looks concerned about this part.
"I'll go first. Zander, Candor or Dauntless?" Shawn asks
"Dauntless." Zander says automatically.
"I dare you to go to the Pit and act like an Amity that has had too much Peace Serum." Shawn dares
Zander gets up, Shawn and I follow him. We leave the apartment and head to the Pit. Shawn and I stay out of sight and we just start laughing at Zander. He is acting like a goof ball.
"Oh, a prancing unicorn with a leprechaun on its back! And the unicorn is prancing on a rainbow!" Zander says in a childish voice.
After a few minutes of this, Zander runs to us laughing like a crazy person. The three of us then run back to Scarlet's apartment.
When we get back to the apartment we tell everyone what happened. Everyone just starts laughing.
"Okay, Carter, Candor or Dauntless?" Zander asks trying to clam everyone down.
"Candor." Carter says after thinking about it for a few seconds.
"What's your past?" Zander asks
"Umm..." Carter hesitates
She hasn't talked about her past. Judging by her face and body language, it seems like she doesn't want to talk about this.
"Umm..." Carter hesitates again "I...I...I'm adopted. Both my parents died when I was three years old. My mom died of cancer. My dad was...stabbed by a factionless. My dad was helping the factionless and then the factionless stabs my dad. I lived with a close family friend. I felt like their kids were my siblings and the parents were really my parents. I've been told by some of the Abnegation, that when they look at me they see my mom. They say that my mom was one of the kindest Abnegation you could meet. So, yeah, that's my past for you."
"Wow." William says "Why didn't you tell us?"
"It never came up." Carter says
Some time goes by. Everyone has gotten asked except for me. Right now Madison is about to ask someone Candor or Dauntless.
"Taylor, Candor or Dauntless?" Madison asks
"Umm...Candor." I say
With this group of people, I'm a little scared to do Dauntless.
"Have you and Taren ever talked about marriage?" Madison asks off the bat. It's like she knew exactly what she was going to ask me once I said Candor.
I give her a weird look.
"No. No, we haven't. Plus, I'm only nineteen! I'm turning twenty tomorrow , yes, but still." I say directly.
After we finish the game of Candor or Dauntless, I start heading to my apartment. Once I get to my apartment I see a new note on the door.

Meet me where you faced one of your fears during your initiation. Meet me where I have tried to help you get over that fear. Meet me there, at midnight.

I think of a place where Taren has tried to help me get over a fear. I think back to my initiation. Where did I face one of my fears, but I still haven't gotten over it? It then comes to me.
