It's been a week since I performed in the Pit. I really liked doing that.
Right now Raylan and I are going over things for our parents 20th wedding anniversary. We decided we were going to have it in the Pit. That's all we have so far.
"Okay, so what color or colors do you think we should do?" I ask
"Black?" Raylan
"What if we do their wedding colors." I mention.
Raylan gives me a questioning look.
"Black, dark red, and navy blue." I say
"Okay..." Raylan says
"We'll have decorations in those colors. What kind of dessert should we have?" I ask
"Really? That's a big question to you?" Raylan questions "Dauntless cake. Duh. It was their wedding cake."
"Okay okay. We can get a several round tables. Maybe six to eight chairs per table. If we need more, we can add more. Even if we don't have enough, people can just sit on the different ledges, it's what we always do." I say "Now what about music?"
"What was the song they danced to at their wedding?" Raylan asks
"Ummm...Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts." I say I had to think about it for a few seconds "We could get a DJ and he can play that song."
"Or...you could sing it." Raylan says in a 'duh' tone.
"No." I say
"Why not?" Raylan asks "It would mean a lot to mom and dad for you sing their song."
I think about it for a minute. Raylan looks at me as if that will make me decide faster. I start to cave in.
"Fine!" I say "I'll do it."
"Yes!" Raylan says throwing his arms up in the air.
We continue to plan the party. After about two hours of going over the party info: guest list, food, music, table arrangements, chair arrangements, decorations, invitations, and who will be giving speeches.
"Okay, I'm pretty sure everything is done." I say "Wait did we-"
"We took care of all of it!" Raylan says
"I'm sorry, I just want it to be perfect." I say
"I understand." Raylan says "But everything is done. We just need the weekend to come."
"Saturday will be perfect." I say
"Yes it will. Now let's go." Raylan says
"Okay." I say
I grab my binder full of papers and pictures of everything for our parents anniversary. I go back to my apartment and go to my room. I put my binder on my nightstand and try to figure out an outfit for Saturday.
Great. Now I'm going to go shopping with Kristen.
I go to the store that Kristen works at.
"Kristen, your helping me pick out a dress for my parents anniversary party." I say walking up to her.
"Yay!" She says excitedly.
She leads me to the dress section. She pulls a few and has me try them on. So far four of the five dresses she had me try on I don't like.
I try on the last dress. It's a knee length, lace strapped, chiffon, sweetheart neckline, dark blue belt, navy blue dress. It's really pretty.
I walk out of the dressing room to show Kristen.
"Oh my gosh. Tay, you look amazing. That's the dress you are getting." Kristen says
I smile and look down at the dress. It is really pretty. I think this is the one I will do.
I go back into the fitting room and change back into my normal clothes.
I follow Kristen to the check out so I can pay for the dress. After paying I thank Kristen and head back to our apartment.
When I get back I go over the details for the party. I really want this party to be perfect for my parents.
