A New Dauntless Legend

Chapter 26

It's been a week since...it happened. I don't eat a lot. I only eat and drink enough to keep me alive. I don't want to do anything. My parents keep insisting I go back to work to get my mind off of things, but I know it won't work. No matter where I'm put I will most likely think of a memory that Taren and I had.

It hurts to even think of him. I can't help it though. I love him so much that I can't help but think about him.

I decide to go into my fear landscape. My parents and friends keep saying I need to do something. I get off the couch and get dressed. I put on a short sleeve, black, dri fit shirt, black leggings, black combat boots, and a leather jacket.

I head to the simulation room. I give my myself the serum and close my eyes. When I open my eyes I'm a forest. It's dark, crickets are playing in the background when I hear a snap. I turn around and I see a wolf. It's not just one wolf though, it's a whole pack. I run and they start growling and following me. One catches up to me and bites my leg. I scream, but keep running. I imagine a gun in my hand. A Glock 17 appears in my hand. I turn around and start shooting. Eventually I run out of bullets and they are all dead once I reach the end of the forest. Fear 1, finished.

The next thing I know I'm being slammed into a metal wall. I reach my arm out and before my arm is fully extended I feel another metal wall. I then reach up and a metal wall above me is coming down. I sink down to the ground and the wall above me comes down quickly. It's completely dark. I can't see a thing. I feel my heart beat getting faster. I have to slow down my heart rate. I try to breathe in and out slowly. After what feels like forever, the walls leave. Fear 2, finished.

I stand up and a city forms in front of me. I'm standing on top of the Hub. I know what I have to do but I'm too scared to do it. I have to jump, but I can't even look down with out almost fainting. I feel like I'm about to vomit. I can't stay up here. I finally get the courage to jump. I back up, I get focused on something, I run, and I jump off the building. Fear 3, finished.

With in a second I hit the ground. I don't get hurt. It just appeared out of no where. I'm in an open field. All my friends and family are tied to posts. Wade, Lindsay, Zander, Shawn, Urina, Madison, Uncle Zeke, Aunt Marlene, Aunt Lynn, Uncle Uriah, Uncle Will, Aunt Shauna, Aunt Christina, Uncle Caleb, Taren, Raylan, mom and dad. They all have a black sack over their heads. I can't see their faces. I see Peter, Patrick, and Eric aiming guns at them.

"Don't!" I yell

They can't hear me. They fire off one by one. Then they are all dead. I see their bodies just slump up against the posts. I start crying. I then remember, this isn't real. Fear 4, finished.

I stand up and I'm in the Pit. This is a new one. I see Taren walking towards me. I see his dark brown hair, light grey eyes, and his smile. I missed him. I run up to him. Before I reach him, someone comes up behind him and stabs Taren. I scream. The person has a mask on so I can't see who it is.

"If you had done what I said, this wouldn't have happened." A person says and runs away.

I run up to Taren. He falls to the ground. I fall to the ground. I put his head in my lap. He softly reaches his right hand to my face.

"I love you, Taylor." He says quietly.

"I love you too, Taren." I say crying.

We softly kiss. When I lift my head back up, his eyes are closed and he isn't breathing. I continue to cry. I steady my heart rate with soft tears rolling down my face. Fear 5, finished.

I open my eyes and I'm back in the simulation room. Still five fears. That part hasn't changed. I walk out of the sim room and go to the cafeteria. It's lunch time so my friends are probably expecting me.

I can't help but think of that last fear. It was the last time I got to see Taren.

Hey y'all hope you enjoyed the chapter! I'm so sad about killing off Taren. I have a plan though. The reason I chose a Glock 17 for the first fear was because I have fired one before. I like the feel and I just liked it in general, so I chose that for this chapter. Tell me what y'all think.
