Dean's POV

"Dean... Wake up..." I heard Jack say softly.

I groaned, pulling the duvet over my head in the hope that he'd just give up let me stay here all day.

"Come on Dean, I know you don't want to do this, but the sooner it's done, the sooner he'll be locked away."

Today was the day of James' trial, and to be honest, I was terrified of having to see him again.

I felt Jack place his hand on my back.

"Come on Deano... Nothing bad is going to happen."

"I told you to stop calling me that..." I giggled halfheartedly.

"I'll stop calling you it if you get up, Deano."

I pulled the duvet away from my face so I could look at him. My heart almost stopped as I saw him. He was wearing a white button-down shirt, a dark grey suit which showed off his broad shoulders and his hair had been gelled back, an untied black silk tie hung loosely from his neck.

Damn. He looked good.

It took every ounce of strength in my body to control myself and try not pounce on him.

Jack raised an eyebrow at me.

"Are yo-"

He was cut off by a knock on the bedroom door.

"Come in!"

The door swung open to reveal Daniel stood there, wearing a suit similar to Jacks, the only difference being that it was a slightly lighter shade of grey.

"What time are we leaving?" He muttered.

"As soon as Deano is ready." Jack said, giving him a small smile.

It had been almost a month since Lucas' death, and needless to say, Daniel was taking it pretty hard. Often, he would sit in the living room for hours, just staring at the ground, or he would hide in the spare bedroom for almost entire days, the only noise coming from the room would be the quiet sobs and whimpers of him crying. I normally went into the bedroom and sat with him if I could hear him crying, but on the really bad days, I normally ended up bandaging his wrists and making sure he didn't try and cut again.

"Deano?" Daniel asked in a questioning tone.

I rolled my eyes.

"Apparently it's his new nickname for me..."

Daniel glanced between us before staring at Jack, raising his eyebrows and tilting his head.

Jack widened his eyes, shaking his head.

Daniel murmured something before walking out.

Jack sighed.

"I need to go talk to him. I'll meet you downstairs."

I nodded, sitting up.

Jack began walking out the door, limping slightly as his ankle hadn't healed completely yet, he hesitated for a second before closing the door.

I quickly pulled on my shirt, fumbling with the buttons. What was that all about?? Why did Daniel find it so weird that Jack had a nickname for me?

I pushed it to the back of my mind as I carried on getting dressed.

It probably wasn't important.

I silently walked down the stairs, pulling on my jacket. I could hear Daniel and Jack quietly talking in the living room, I know I shouldn't have done it, but I stood outside the archway so that they couldn't see me, listening in to their conversation.
