Chapter 14 : New 'Business Partner' (?)

Kate's POV

*Knock. Knock.*

I was doing some paper works when I heard a knock.

"Come in." I said habang patuloy pa rin ako sa pag scan ng files na hawak ko.

"Miss Kate?" rinig kong sabi ng isang boses.

I know it's Janna, my secretary. Years na din kasi kaming magkasama dito sa trabaho kaya kahit papaano ay alam ko na ang boses niya.

"Hmm?" I simply replied while still checking the papers.

"The board meeting will start in 15 minutes, Miss. Almost everyone are already in the board room." Paalala niya.

Oh, I almost forgot about that one. Medyo minamadali ko kasi ang pag follow up and pag review sa ilang paper works about sa isang campaign ng company para mas madaling ma organize.

Tiningnan ko muna ang oras sa relo ko.

9:20 A.M.

Ten minutes nalang pala.

I looked at Janna.

"Okay. I'll just prepare in 5 minutes. Mauna kana and check if everything is set. Wala namang papers, diba?" sabi ko sa kanya.

This meeting kasi is being called by the 'Two Big Bosses' kaya medyo strict ngayon. Remember them? My dad and his dad? Well, wala ding papers kasi if they were the ones who set a meeting, sila lang din ang nakakaalam ng agenda. I mean, not always. But most of the times.

"Yes, Miss Kate." and she bowed and went out of my office.

Actually, hindi naman talaga 9:30 ang start ng meeting. 10:00 talaga siya. Kaya nga lang, since the 'Two Big Bosses' ang nagpatawag, the board make sure na at least 30 minutes before the meeting, ready na ang lahat at nandun na dapat. Kumbaga, all is set.

Nagpunta ako sa CR ng office ko. Yes, complete kasi ang office ko.

Nag - ayos lang ako saglit. I put on light make - up like what I always wear. Powder lang and then pink lipstick. Then inayos ko ang damit ko. Nagsuklay din ako. And I went out of the CR.

I checked my bag if my things are already there. After checking, I started walking out of my office and head to the board room.

Maya - maya lang ay natanaw ko na ang door ng board room. I saw Janna standing near the door.

Pagkalapit ko, agad siyang nag bow and I just smiled and nodded.

"Are things already set?" I asked. Of course, I should check on every detail, diba? That's one of my responsibilities as one of the successors.

"Yes, Miss Kate. Okay na po." she simply answered.

"Okay. Thanks. So, let's go?" I told her while smiling. She smiled back. "Okay po."

As usual, nauna na siyang pumasok to announce to everyone inside the room na andito na ako.

After a while, I inhaled and exhaled and then opened the door para makapasok na.

Everyone stood up acknowledging my presence. And as I reach my seat, I bowed at them at sabay - sabay kaming umupo.

Nang makaupo na kami, inilibot ko ang aking paningin. Half of the 'Ladies and Gentlemen behind CeeWai Global' is here. How come na half lang? It is because, ang mga divisions lang na ako ang magmamanage someday ang nandito. Kasi diba, dalawa kaming tagapagmana? Me and him? So, that's it.

Half an hour later, 9: 45 AM, two employees came. A girl and a boy. Sila 'yung secretary ng 'Two Big Bosses'.

The girl employee went in the middle and the boy stayed near the door.

Nang makarating na sa gitna ang girl employee, sabay silang nag bow.

"Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen behind CeeWai Global, our ever intelligent head, the successor, Ms. Kate, my fellow secretaries, to the employees. The 'Two Big Bosses' has arrived." And then she bowed again. The other employee near the door opened it as we all stood up as a sign of respect.

And then the 'Two Big Bosses' entered the room.

And they bowed to us as a sign na we can take our seats na.

"Good day, everyone! How are you doing?" masiglang greetings ni Dad. Haaaaay.. my ever jolly Dad SLASH Boss. Haha

Agad na nagsisagutan ang ilan. And that made Dad and Papa smile.

"Oh, I see. That's great." medyo natatawang sabi ni Dad.

"Yeah, that's good." sabi din ni Papa.

No wonder. They are the best - est friend. Hahahaha..

Nagkamustahan pa saglit and then nagsalita na si Papa.

"Oh well, to avoid keeping this long. The reason we called this meeting is to remind you of our newest business allies." Papa said.

"So, one is the DaeHan International, the top telecommunications group in Korea and all over Asia. They will be having a partnership with our telecommunications group under the division of Kenneth." sabi naman ni Dad.

"The other one is the MGC. They will be having a partnership with our businesses under Kate's division." pagpapatuloy naman ni Papa.

Napatango nalang kami.

"So, any concerns, ladies? Gentlemen?"

And Tito Zachary raised his hands.

"Oh, Mr. Sanchez?" pag - aacknowledge sa kanya ni Dad.

Tumayo si Tito Zach.

"My concern is about the partnership with the MGC." panimula niya. Tumango naman si Dad and Papa as a sign na ipagpatuloy lang niya ang kanyang sinasabi.

"What will be the process? Is their representative going here? Or our representative will work in their company? Or papers lang?" he asked.

And then Papa answered, "There is a representative of their company na dito na magtatrabaho."

"Actually, that is one of the main purpose of this meeting. And since we have reached this point, might as well introduce him to you now." Dad said.

Him? What do they mean to say?

"Okay, ladies and gentlemen, let us welcome our new member. The representative from Martin Group of Companies or MGC. Here is.." pabitin na sabi ni Papa.

"Gian Martin." Dad and Papa said nang sabay.

Huh?? SINO????????????

Agad silang tumayo to welcome him. Ako naman, I was shocked. Like, really?

He is my new business partner? WOW!
