Kate's POV
"Wala ka ng nakalimutan?" tanong ni Kei as he put his seat belt on.
Umiling lang ako and he started the engine.
"By the way, saan tayo didiretso? Sa bahay or kila Mommy or Mama?" I asked him. Pag kina Mommy or Mama kasi kami pupunta, it's about a four - hour drive. Pag sa bahay naman, almost 3 hours lang yata.
Nilingon niya lang ako and smiled.
"At home." he answered meaningfully. I don't know why I'm feeling this way. Parang may kakaiba kasi sa sagot niya eh.
Mali. Mali. I should not overthink things. Nagiging O.A. na masyado eh.
"Oh, I see. After that, no plans?" tanong ko ulit.
What I mean to say was, halimbawa, may meeting ba kaming pupuntahan or maglilibot - libot ba kami. It's still 7 in the morning eh.
"So far, wala naman. Let's just see when we get there." sagot niya habang nakatutok lang sa daan.
Tumango - tango lang ako.
"Ayy, oo nga pala. Are you attending the convention?" tanong ko sa kaniya.
"What convention?" he asked me back at tiningnan ako saglit pero ibinalik naman niya agad ang tingin sa daan.
"The International Convention for Business next week. It will be held in Singapore." I told him. Kanina kasi, when he was on the bathroom, I checked my emails on the phone and the last one was about that convention.
"It depends." sagot niya sa akin.
Kunot - noo ko siyang nilingon.
"It depends?" ulit ko pa. Yas, ang kulit ko na. Hahahaha. Okay na rin 'yun. Para hindi siya antukin.
"Next week kasi, medyo full na ang schedule ko. Remember, the expansion." he answered me.
"Ayy, oo nga pala. Full na pala eh. So, bakit it depends pa rin?" naguguluhang tanong ko.
"Kasi if you'll be attending, then I guess, I have to." he sweetly answered and smiled at me. Pero ibinalik din niya ang tingin niya sa daan.
Shocks. Feeling ko tuloy namumula na naman ang cheeks ko. Shicks! Ano ba 'to. Feeling teenager lang?
"I guess, I can't." maikling sagot ko.
"And why?" tanong niya.
"Just like what you said, magsisimula na din ang merging ng ibang companies under my administration kaya kailangan maging hands - on ako. So, I must say that I can't." sagot ko sa kaniya.
Hinawakan niya naman ang kamay ko na nasa lap ko.
"You're right. 'Wag ka nalang umattend. You've been so stressed out lately tapos dadagdag pa iyan." sabi niya and he kissed my hand pero ang tingin ay nasa daan pa rin.
