Double life chapter 28

Drip ... Drip .... Drip .....

I wish I had a bucket to catch the stupid dripping. I hate the sound of something repetitive. It's annoying.

'Let's play a game..' The person in the room told me. I still know absolutely nothing about 'it'. but I assume it's a guy because his voice is a tad low. But then again, a girl could have a low voice too.

' What game do you want to play?' I asked him ( I'll go with a guy )

' I have no idea, I love hints but that would be hard to play since it's dark in here.' He said. note to self 1, I think it's a guy. Note to self 2, he loves hints. Note to self 3, he must've been here for a long time ( since his voice is so weird and I haven't heard him move once. )

' Maybe 20 questions ? ' I told him. This way we could learn more about each other. I do kind of want to know who he is and why he is here ?

' Fine I'll start, and we'll just take turns. ' He spoke, ' How old are you ? '

UNKNOWN PERSON POV

I know her voice from somewhere. Who is she ???? I don't dare to ask her name ... and even if, that wouldn't quite tell me who she is ... I've been out for 5 years maybe 6...

' I'm seventeen. ' She said, I couldn't see her even though I wanted to. Seventeen .... Minus 6 ..who did I know around the age of eleven ?

' How old are you ? ' She backfired my question. ' 22 ' I told her as much as my voice could handle. It's terrible really. I barely get to eat, I'm stuck here with heavy chains and close to no water. But they keep me alive, I have no idea why but they do.

' Second question, are you still in high school ? ' I asked her. Her voice is so familiar ... yet ...

' Yeah I am, in my last year actually. ' She said. same as when I got kidnapped. Is there a pattern here ? Will there be any other people be brought in? Why are they doing this?

' How long have you been here? ' She countered me. I thought we were starting easier.

' 5 to 6 years I believe. I try to keep up with the dates but it's hard. ' I told her honestly.

' all right, fourth question, my turn. ' I said. ' what's your name ?' I asked. This is going to determine if she's in my business o not. If she's a street girl she will probably hesitate and pick a fake name. if she's not then she won't hesitate to tell me her real name because she doesn't see the harm in it. and if she's really smart she'll hesitate for a really long time to sent me a message. A message only street people understand.

Good. She'll give me a fake. She's family or ... an enemy.

....

' I'm Jacqueline Heart. ' She told me. Wait a second... this is a classic one ... I always used to use jack heart when I needed to use a fake name... Not a lot of people knew about my tradition so this limits my list of who she could be significantly.

' And you ?' She asked me. Yeah what now, what do I have to use now? ' I'm Rico, Rico Mendez.'

I hope she gets the message as well.
