Did she just act like we have never met before? Should I just go along with it? I'm not sure if it was to save my ass or hers? Juliet snaps me out of my shocked state when she wraps her arms around me saying, how happy she is that I decided to come to her grandfather's funeral. I wrap my arms around her as well out of habit, but I'm really not paying attention to what she is saying the only thing I'm worried about right now is how I'm going to fix or at least explain this to Lily. Looking over Julie's shoulder I look straight at Lily and say "I'm so sorry for your loss" and this causes Juliette to squeeze me tighter.

Julie: "I feel better now that you're here."

Lily rolls her eyes.

Lily: "I'm going inside."

Julie: "Oh it's perfect that you're here! I can finally introduce you to my parents!"

She exclaimed so ecstatic that it didn't feel like we were at a funeral anymore, like the memory of her grandfather's death didn't matter anymore. She grabbed my hand and led me inside the cozy home. We steered left to the living room where I assumed all of her family was, mourning the loss of a loved one. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lily go down a hallway and make a left at the second door. I then tugged on Julie's hand when I stopped following her and said "I don't think it's a good idea for you to introduce me to your parents at a time like this, they've just lost a loved one and I doubt they want to meet me now."

Julie: "That's nonsense. And besides it's not like my grandfather is coming back they're probably over it already.

Pulling on my hand she said "c'mon they'll love you!" Appalled at her insensitivity I stopped her again and said the first thing that came to my mind to delay this meeting.

Adrian: "May I use your rest room for a second?"

Julie: "Um, sure. Third door on your right."

I walked down the hall Julie pointed me to and came to a stop at the door I saw Lily go into. It had a sign with her name as well as Julie's on it. Smiling to myself I pictured a young Lily with her light brown eyes and gorgeous loose brown curls. Without a second thought I knocked on the door as a warning and opened it when there's was no response.

And there she was sitting up against the headboard of the bed with a pillow held close against her chest as if squeezing it could rid her of the pain. She must have noticed me come into the room because she looked up at me with a look as if she was asking why I was in there.

Adrian: "Sorry I thought this was the bathroom."

Lily: "Do your bathrooms normally have signs with people's names on the door?

Looking back towards the door I laughed inwardly at how stupid I was for thinking I could get away with the old 'I thought this was the bathroom' excuse. My eyes strayed to the other decorations on the door. They consisted of beautiful drawings. In a weird way, I can tell they're drawn by Lily. On the door there is also a loose paper saying no boys allowed.

Adrian: "Aren't you a little too old to have a sign with your name on your door?"

She smirked a little. Pointing to the loose leaf I continued.

Adrian: "So can I come in?"

She just nodded looking down at her feet. I walked in and sat at the end of the bed.

Lily: "Shouldn't you be out there with my sister?"

I could sense a bit of anger in her question but chose to ignore it for now.

Adrian: "I wanted to talk to you about what happened outside."

Lily: "There's nothing to talk about, you're dating my sister, I get it."

Adrian: "No that's not..."

Lily: "Don't worry I won't tell her that we've met before."

Adrian: "Actually that's what I wanted to know. Why didn't you say anything to her about it?"

I could see her thinking hard but I can also tell there is more to this than she is leading on.
