Chapter 14 (Lily)

Once we are back in the car, Julie has a contagious smile on her face.

Lily: "Who put happy pills in your coffee?"

Julie: "I started talking to some guy who asked me out to a party tonight! You want to come?"

Lily: "No thanks, parties aren't really my thing."

Julie: "Oh come on! Don't be such a pooper!"

Lily: "Pooper? Really?"

Julie: "I couldn't think of another word."

We both laugh and she continues.

Julie: "One party! Do it for me! Pleaseeeeeee!"

Lily: "Fine, one party but we better be home before 1!"

Julie: "You will be home, safe and sound at exactly 12:59!"

Lily: "Julie, I'm serious!"

Julie: "Alright! Alright! So you're coming?"

Lily: "Yea, I guess."

She screams and starts to clap. I miss talking to my sister and seeing her this happy.

After finishing my hair and makeup, I chose to pick out my black tight dress that has been sitting in my closet, waiting for me to wear it.

Adrian: he clears his throat "Um... you look...absolutely beautiful."

I turn around and look at myself in the mirror but I don't see why he looks speechless. I am just wearing a normal black dress, with normal makeup. Nothing over the top.

Lily: "Thank you. Are you sure you don't want to come?"

Adrian: "If I did, I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off of you."

I move closer to him.

Lily: "And that's bad thing because?"

He kisses me, spins me around and smacks my ass.

Lily: "Heyyy!"
Adrian: "You know I cant dance! Have fun! But not too much fun!"

I wink at him and sexy walk out the door. I can feel him watching me and that makes me smile.

Adrian opens the door for me and when we both look out the door, we both have a shocked face when we see who's in the car. Sitting next to Julies date is Max, the man I met at the hospital. Automatically, I turn around to look at Adrian. He looks like he has so many different emotions going through his head.

Adrian: "I'm going."

Lily: "I thought you said you couldn't dance."

Adrian: "I never said I was going to."

His face is stern and has not looked away from Max.

Lily: "Adrian, I'll be fine. He wont do anything."

Adrian: "I know he wont, because I wont let him anywhere near you."

Lily: "Adrian, you can't be like that. I am allowed to have friends."

He ignores me and walks out the door.

Max gets out of the car and yells "Lily!" and being the sarcastic guy Adrian is, he yells back "Max!"

On our trip there, Adrian insisted on sitting in the middle. The situation felt like when a mom or dad sit between two fighting siblings; me, Adrian in the middle and then Max on the opposite side of me. His jealousy just kept making me laugh.

Lily: "So Max, where are you from?"

Max: "Well, I was born in New York but I grew up here in Cali."

Julie: "I've always wanted to go to New York."

Max: "You haven't been?"

Julie: "I travel a lot but I don't know, I guess New York has never come up."

Max: "I guess that can be our first trip"

Julie: "I guess so."

I feel like they are getting a long very well. When I look at Adrian, I can tell he agrees with me because he seems more relaxed.

I was starting to get nervous. I am not a party person. They make me feel uncomfortable and especially if there are too many people there.

When we arrive, it looks like a very small and claustrophobic house. The cars outside were parked almost on top of each other and the people outside were drinking and smoking. I moved a little closer to Adrian and he sensed how uncomfortable I was.

We stayed there for a while and the music was actually making me feel a little better. Adrian stayed with me the entire time, even while I was dancing inside the crowd of people.

Adrian: "Would you like something to drink?"

Lily: "Yes, thank you!"

I felt like we were yelling because we couldn't here each other over the music.

Adrian: "Okay I'll be back."

After a while I get caught into my favorite song. Until I start to feel someone grab my waist behind me. I gasp and try to turn around but he holds me as tight as he could. Then with one hand he covers my mouth and whispers in my ear, "He was right, you are a piece of work. Well, I have a message from your biggest fan." I try to get out of his grasp but there's no use. "He wanted me to tell you, he is back and has been watching you."

He then pushes me to the ground and when I finally have the chance to turn around and look up, he is gone. Right then, Max comes running to me.

Max: "Lily! Are you okay? What happened?" he asks me while trying to help me off the ground.

Lily: "Yea, I'm fine. I just want to go home."

Max: "Okay, I'll go find Adrian."

Lily: "No, don't leave me! I'll go with you!"

Max: "Are you sure you're okay?"

Lily: "I said I'm fine."

By the time we get Julie, her date and Max to get in the car, it was already late at night. I was quiet the entire ride home. I can tell Max had explained to Adrian what had happened because they both kept looking at me like I was broken. Adrian kept asking me if I was okay and I was starting to get annoyed because I knew I wasn't.
