Chapter 22 (Lily)

It's finally Monday and I can't help but feel the emptiness inside me that comes without being with Adrian. I'm so used to him being with me, that I don't even know what to do without him. Waking up to an empty bed was even worse than I thought it would be. After getting out of the shower I hear a noise in the kitchen and I get scared until I remembered that Skylar and Jesse were staying with us.

Jesse: "Good morning sleepy head!"

Lily: "How are you Jesse?"

Jesse: "I'm good and you?"

I ask him how he's doing and he always responds the same way, we just made it a routine and we have done it ever since.

Lily: "Good, haha. I'm glad we haven't changed."

He joins me in laughing and says "We never will. Forever..."

Lily: "And Always."

We got that from watching One tree hill when we were younger. We flipped it around to make it our own, even though we knew it was the same. It just never seems to get old and every time we say it to each other, it reminds me of how lucky I am to have him always looking out for me.

Skylar: "Hey girl, you're alive! I thought you died in that mansion looking bedroom you slept in."

Lily: giggling, "Good morning to you too Skylar!"

Skylar: "So, what is the new princess of Cali going to do today?"

Lily: "I was just thinking of staying in and maybe read, watch a movie or something."

Skylar: "BORING!"

Jesse: "Let's go out! But let's not go crazy, I'm slightly poor now. The flight here cost me a bank load."

Skylar: "Don't worry, the prince left us some cash to spend it on his little princess."

Lily: "Are you going to be calling me that all day?"

Skylar: "Yep! Now go get dressed, we are going shopping!"

Jesse: "I may be gay, but not all gays love to shop."

Skylar: "Well then, you can stay here and watch CSI: Miami all day OR you can come and hang out with your friends!"

Lily: "What's it going to be? Adam Rodriguez or Us?"

Me and Skylar put our best puppy dog eyes on and of course he can't resist.

Jesse: "Fine! You win!"

Skylar tries on everything she can possibly find, while I sit and deal or no deal her outfits. She has the perfect body and she swears she doesn't. We go through almost every store in the mall and I'm starting to feel bad for Jesse. When I turn around and look at him, he is holding all of our bags.

We start to walk a little more until we reach a music store. I know Jesse would love this. I literally freeze from excitement when I see a giant screen nearest to the front of the store, next to the cash register, with Beyoncé's music videos on a loop.

Lily: "You guys go walk around the store. I'll stay right here. This was meant for me."

Skylar: "Watch it Lily, there's people around. You don't want to wow them with your moves!" She laughs and starts to walk around with Jesse.

I can't help myself. She is so powerful and her songs are so full of life. I'm singing and dancing until I find the cashier staring at me.

Cashier: "Beyoncé fan huh?"

My cheeks start to heat up and by that I can tell I'm bright red from embarrassment. I smile to him and turn back around to watch the videos.

Cashier: "Haha it's all right, I'm gonna go to the back and get something. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone how drunk in love you are." We both laugh until he starts to walk away.

I stand there in a trance until I feel someone come behind me and whisper. "You scream or do anything and I swear to God I will shoot." He presses something hard against my back and I drop my phone on the floor and freeze. I remember that voice, I couldn't possibly forget it. It's Cole and he's pointing a gun to my back.

Cole: "Walk with me and don't say a word."

I do as I am told and slowly walk in front of him. Once I start to slow down, he pushes the gun harder against my back letting me know of who's in control. I see a cop and my instincts tell me to run towards him screaming at the top of my lungs but Cole bends down and says, "Don't even think about doing something stupid." As we get closer to the cop, I try to get his attention by opening my eyes as wide as possible and he looks at me with a questionable look.

The cop then slowly starts walking up towards us and says "Is everything okay here?"

Cole: "Yes, everything is fine. Thank you."

He grabs onto my hand and starts to pull me away when the cop asks again. But this time the question is directed to me, "Ma'am is everything okay?" I can feel Coles hand on my arm grip tighter while his gun stabs against my back.

Lily: "Yes, everything is okay sir."

Cop: "Okay well, be careful out there. It looks like there's a storm coming."

Cole: "Thank you, we'll be very careful."

When we are outside in the parking lot, I just remembered that with my surprise at his ambush, I had dropped my phone on the floor. I hope someone sees it.

Cole grabs my head and bends me down to get into his car. It smells like cigarettes and alcohol. He then grasps my hands together and ties a rope around them and on my legs.

Cole: "Just in case you try to be slick and run away."

He laughs and looks at me before he goes around to the driver side of the car and says "I have trust issues."

His smile sends a shiver down my entire body. Icouldn't move. I can't even tell if I was breathing.
