Chapter 21 (Adrian)

Something was wrong with Lily. She was being extremely quiet and not once did she hook her arm around mine. I kept asking her if she was okay and she would just nod. We can't go back to this. She needs to understand that she can tell me anything. I want her to confide in me.

On our way home, she had just cuddled into my arms and fallen asleep. I let her even though I knew something was wrong. When I wrap her up into me, she scared me when she jumped. I couldn't breathe, I was confused and in shock. It was like she was scared of me for a second. I don't ever want to feel that way again.

As we get home, I looked down at her and her eyes start to flutter open.

Adrian: "We're here!"

She smiles and starts to get out of the car. This wasn't how I pictured tonight going. We entered the house and she takes off her shoes. They must hurt her from all the walking she did today.

Adrian: "Are you okay?"

Lily: "How many times are you going to ask me that?"

Adrian: "I'm just worried about you Lily."

She sighs.

Lily: "I know I'm sorry. I'm just not feeling very well."

Adrian: "What wrong? I am a doctor you know."

Lily: "It's just a headache. I think I just need some sleep."

Adrian: "Is this about my first day at work? Because I can stay for one more day if you'd like."

Lily: "No, it's okay. I'm fine."

I know she's far from fine.

Upstairs, she was going to take a quick shower and as soon as I'm about to go in with her. She closes the door. I sit on the bed trying to figure out what was going on, but I couldn't. Did I say anything to hurt her feelings? How can I possibly go to work tomorrow knowing she feels this way? She walks out of the bathroom wearing one of my shirts and only my shirt.

Lily: "I'm sorry I forgot to get my pjs and this was the first thing I saw."

Adrian: "Please, don't apologize. I have never seen you look so beautiful and you wearing my shirt unleashes the caveman in me."

She smiles and heads to the TV and puts on a movie.

Maybe sleep is what she really needs. As I take a shower, I can't help get the picture of her in my shirt. The way her nipples were showing through the thin layer. She was so beautiful and before I know it, my hand was moving on its own. I held back a groan as I stroked my cock. I moved my hand up and down my length and just the image of Lily in my shirt was all that it took to excite me. I was on the precipice of losing control. I leaned against the wall and pictured Lily against it and looking at me with those beautiful brown eyes. With that thought, every vision or thought that was in my mind disappeared as I reached my oblivion. I yelled her name in my head as everything went into a complete blur.

I lean forward and place my forehead on the wall as I try to catch my breath. I close my eyes in disbelief of what just happened. I must be the biggest asshole out there if I get to feel this good when my woman is outside the door in a vulnerable state. I finally open my eyes, stand up straight and step out of the shower. I am going to be what she needs and if what she needs is to feel safe, that's what I will give her.

I walk into the bedroom in just a towel and even with my back towards her, I can still feel her eyes on me. I smirk and plan to make her smile. I drop the towel on the floor and slowly put on my boxers. I try to take my time and when I turn around I see a small smile starting to form on her lips.

Lily: "Are you trying to kill me?"

Adrian: "Me? Of course not!"

We both laugh and I crawl into bed, pulling her close to my chest. Her smile is contagious.

Adrian: "Really? The Last Song again? You have seen that movie probably a very unhealthy amount of times."

Lily: "Shh, it's my favorite movie. The music is beautiful and he's beautiful too."

Adrian: "Do I sense a little crush? Are you trying to get me jealous? Because it's working."

Lily: "Well look at him, I think he may even be hotter than you."

She smirks and I reach over and start to tickle her.

Adrian: "Yeah?"

I tickle her even more and her laugh fills the entire room.

Lily: "Adrian s-stop haha I can't breathe."

Adrian: "You're mine and only mine."

Lily: "Okay! Okay!"

I start to grab her feet and she starts to squirm under me.

Lily: "Don't you dare!"

Adrian: "Then say it."

She keeps laughing.

Lily: "Say what?"

Adrian: "You know what?"

I place my finger on the ball of her foot ready to swipe it up.

Lily: "I'm yours! Adrian! I'm yours and only yours!"

Adrian: "Too late!"

She closes her eyes and instead of tickling her feet, I place a small kiss on each one of her toes.

We both laugh together.

Adrian: "You are so beautiful and completely mine!"

Making her laugh means the world to me. She deserves to be happy.

The movie is only halfway through when she is completely asleep. I kiss her forehead and whisper "I love you Lily. More than you know." I know she heard me because the corner of her lip twitches up and she scoots closer to me. How am I going to leave this woman tomorrow? I have never dreaded going to work so much in my entire life.
