Falling Together

Chapter 11 (Adrian)

        

          We arrive at my parents' house after about half an hour of driving. I had to turn off the air conditioning in the car because we were still soaking wet from the rain. I look over at Lily and she looks calmer than she did when she first got into the car.

Adrian: "We're here."

I turn off the car and get out quickly to go around and open the door for Lily.

Lily: "Thank you."

It's become a habit to extend my arm out so Lily can hook her arm around mine. She does it every time we are walking together. I love the feeling of having her right by my side.

I knock on the door, hoping that whatever is going to happen on the opposite side of it, won't scare Lily aware from me.

Elizabeth: "Hello, Welcome."

Adrian: "Mom this is Lily, Lily this is my mom, Elizabeth."

Lily: "It's very nice to meet you Mrs. Smith."

Elizabeth: "Oh honey, call me Elie."

Lily: "Thank you for inviting me to your home."

Daniel: "It was our pleasure."

My dad's walks towards us and gives Lily a hug.

Daniel: "You must be Lily, we have heard so much about you. I'm Daniel, Adrian's father. We made dinner, I hope you like lasagna."

I told my mom exactly what to make and shit eating grin appears on Lily's face and by her reaction, I'm glad I did.

Lily: "Yes, thank you very much."

          We walk to the dining table and my parents spend about a whole hour interviewing Lily. I move my hand under the table to grab hers and she gives me a tight squeeze to let me know she is okay.

Elizabeth: "Well, thank God you are not with Juliette anymore because she came into your father's office disrespecting him. Can you believe that girl? Calling us out like that."

I clear my throat and say "Mom stop!"

Lily: "That girl, is my sister."

Daniel: "Wait, so Adrian you're dating both of them?"

Adrian: "God no! Why would you even think such a thing?"

Daniel: "Well, when you were younger you used to bring a new girl over every night...."

I clear my throat.

Interrupting my dad, my mom says, "sorry honey, didn't know you girls were related."

Lily: "It's okay."

         But I knew that she was offended and slightly tense after what my father said. So after dinner, I excused us from the table to show Lily my house. She hooked her arm around mine and as we walked through the hallways, all I saw was Lily's face changing into shock.

Lily: "I knew you had money but..... Wow!"

Adrian: "It's just a house Lily."

Lily: "I know but I'm just not used to this."

Maybe in the future I can buy her a house like this so we can enjoy it together.

She walks towards all the picture frames on the wall next to my room and she starts to giggle. I love that sound.

Adrian: "What's so funny?"

Lily: "This is you?"

Adrian: "Yea, I know I was a stud."

         She laughs but keeps walking. I can't get over how fucking beautiful she looks in her dress. I reach for the door and let her into my room. This isn't something I am use to. I usually don't let anyone into my room. It's something I've done since I was little. Not even my friends were allowed in my room. They would always ask me and I would always make an excuse or just dodge the subject. My room was always the one thing that I can always call mine. But now, it's not the only thing. I turn around and look at Lily analyzing every detail of my room.

          She is so beautiful, breathtaking even and I can't believe she is all mine. I walk towards her and turn her around into my arms.

Adrian: "I love you."

Lily: "I love you too."
