She was beautiful. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. The way her dimples showed when she got nervous or how honest she was being with me. It just made me feel a certain way, a good way. There have been plenty of girls in my life but not like her, not even close. When she laid her head on my shoulder, I honestly had no intention of saying anything; she looked so peaceful. I also knew that if I woke her she would've realized that we were still on the plane and freaked out. But now we have arrived and we have to get off the plane.
I look to her and she was pale and afraid. For some reason, I wanted to embrace her and make her feel like she's safe, that everything will be okay. But if I did, I would look like a rapist or just straight up weird. Especially after meeting her only a few hours ago. Once I realized that the only way to get her to relax was for her to talk, I tried to start a conversation. It worked because she didn't look frightened at all throughout the flight. Well, until now.
Adrian: "Do you need any help with your bags?"
Lily: "Um, yes thank you."
There are those dimples again.
Adrian: "My pleasure."
We started walking to the exit of the airport, through an enormous crowd of people. All I was thinking was, this is it; This might be the last time I see her again. Why am I so nervous? I just met her. Why should I be nervous? It's not like I'm going to see her again, but I really hope I do. Should I get her number? No, maybe not that might be weird.
Adrian: "So how was the flight?"
Smooth.
Lily: "Ha-ha, well other than the fact that I drooled all over your suit and gave you a summary of almost my entire life, it could have been worse."
There's that honesty.
Adrian: "First of all, I thought the drool added a nice touch to the suit."
She laughs and then slightly pushes me.
Adrian: "Second, I didn't mind hearing about your life. I actually really enjoyed it."
Lily: "I guess you haven't met anyone as annoying as me? Ha-ha"
I don't think I have ever met anyone like you. I didn't say that, but that was all I could think about.
Adrian: "You weren't annoying. You were just scared. But like I said it's fine, I enjoyed hearing you talk."
We walked together, without even talking to each other to wait for our cars. We wait until a black stretched limo appears and stops right in front of us.
Lily: "Is that for you?"
Adrian: "No?"
A man probably around his late twenties appears from the passenger seat, staring intently at Lily. He walks straight up to her and says something but I couldn't quite hear anything. He then shows her a few papers, as if proofing to her who he was and I can tell she was uncomfortable. I don't know why but there was a weird feeling in my stomach. Who was this guy? She turns around to talk to me but still doesn't give anything away.
Adrian: "I thought you said your mom didn't make it all the way?"
Lily: "She didn't."
I feel like she was trying to avoid talking to me.
Adrian: "I really hope to meet again."
She smiles and just before she can get into the limo she turns around and says "Me too."
The mancloses her door and eyes me until he gets inside. I don't know why, but I havea weird feeling about him. As I see the limo start moving away, I whisper"Goodbye Lily."
