Chapter 11- Doom's Day Eve
I heard the soft voice of Mrs. Johnson saying, "Goodbye Larry. See ya", before she slammed the door shut(loudly) and came towards me with some bitter things to say.
"That", she said, truly angry, "was very very VERY rude Jackie". Jeez, she was looking at me so directly I felt her eyes would burn me!
I remained silent for a while. I mean, what could I say? It wasn't my fault that she didn't introduce me to Larry Johnson. So when he came up to me and said hi, I said innocently, "Hello Uncle..."
It was only after I heard his reply that I realized how important introduction to a person is.
"Jackie...I- I...", he'd replied like I'd just shot him in the head and he just couldn't figure out why. "...I think I liked it better when you still called me Dad"
And BAM! I was declared Miss Rude!
"I am sorry", that was all I could come up with. "I was- I was not thinking straight at that moment. I didn't mean it Mom!"
She just moved her head from side to side indicating a I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-you look and marched away. Oh God, this just got better. I sat there on the couch making a pout face.
A moment later, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it", I shouted out so that Mrs. Johnson wouldn't come running down.
"Oh hey!", I greeted when I saw it was Jasper.
Instead of greeting me back, he just looked up and down at me. "Goodness, you haven't even changed!"
Change? How the hell did he know that I needed to change back to myself? That I was not really Jackie?!
But then I noticed he was gazing at my clothes - which I hadn't changed after returning from school.
Shit. I had dance practise at the Oysterhouse in an hour now!
"Oh yeah... I'll take a quick shower and come down okay? Can you wait here for a minute?", I asked, already hopping up the stairs like a freaking frog.
"No I can't. I have to", he said sarcastically, slumping down on the bean bag.
"Ha-ha! Good one", I remarked as I closed the door of my room. Within twenty minutes I was ready. But there was one problem.
"Man I'm so hungry!" I muttered to myself. I ran downstairs into the kitchen and quickly grabbed a leftover hotdog.
"Let's go", I said to him and we drove off to the stupid Oysterhouse.
Time flew by as we practised. Carter said that I had improved quite a lot. Yaay! Victory!
As we finished the practise, Carter came up to us and said with a smile, "You're not going to let me down tomorrow are you?"
"We won't Carter, right Jackie?", Jasper said, grinning at me.
"Yeah...Yeah of course!", I said, not believing it at all. In actual, I was like, "Today is your last happy day on earth Felicia..."
