Chapter 20- Shopping and Sighs

"How about this?"

"Cool"

"Look I got a green one too"

"Double cool"

"Oh God, this black one is bae too"

"Triple cool"

This super-boring conversation was going on between Beth and me. We were, on her insist again, at the city mall, looking for a dress to wear to Jasper's party tonight. Though I had a slight craze for shopping too, it just wasn't fun to go shopping with Beth, or any of the Bimbos in that case. Shopping sessions with Natasha had been so fun, so hilarious. Although most of the times we just did 'shopping' for our insatiable stomachs, it never felt boring.

I let out a sigh. I missed my life.

"So which one should I buy?" Beth's chirpy voice transported me back from my thought-world.

"Uhh..."I paused to look at the three shimmering, sleeveless dresses she was holding in her hands. "That black one probably"

Beth flashed a big grin and then stuffed the black dress into the shopping bag and kept the other two on some random shelf.

Running a hand through her brunette hair, she said, "Your turn now"

I grunted in reply to her words. I didn't want a turn in this really. Thinking about Jackie's incredible cloth collection (which could be a treat to a fashionista), I shook my head at her.

"I have many in my wardrobe"

"Come on, this is your boyfriend's birthday!"

It doesn't feel like though, I wanted to say but kept mum instead.

"Please Beth, let's just pay for your dress and go" I said using a bored tone.

Beth shrugged, though I could tell she was pissed, and then we both strolled off towards the cash counter. Once we got out of the mall, I spotted Pizza House on the opposite side of the road. I got a déjà vu feeling as I thought about the eve of my birthday.

"Hey let's go grab a pizza" I proposed, much to the approval of my grumbling stomach.

Beth looked at me with wide eyes, as if I'd just suggested doing Yoga in the middle of the road.

"What?" I asked, irritated.

"What you're suggesting is out of question, Jackie" Beth said using a tone that made my blood boil. "You don't want to look fat tonight, do you?"

"Eating a pizza won't make you fat in some hours, that's common sense" I said through gritted teeth as I awarded myself some honor for not punching her yet.

"We don't have much money left anyway" she stated.

I frowned in disappointment. One chance to get some happiness and God takes that away too. Humph.

"Fine" I mumbled and we started walking towards her car which was parked some distance away.

The pitiful cries my tummy made almost brought tears to my eyes.

Look who updated!

I know, I know it's just a filler chapter but I really needed one chapter to be like this so that the next chapter wouldn't be toooo long (coz it has a lot of drama; spoiler alert!)

And, I've changed Sharon's character from Lindsay Lohan to Shailene Woodley because Lindsay just didn't fit tbh xD
So... Do let me know your thoughts about this chapter/ book and please vote, share and add this book to your lists if you like it 😙
