Chapter 14- I'm waiting, Jasper

"Honey would you like some soup?", the motherly voice of Maggie sounded from the kitchen.

"No Mom!", I shouted my reply back. "You've been stuffing me up the whole day!"

It was the first day at home after I was discharged from the hospital. And Maggie was behaving as if I was some starving little kid waiting for food to find its way to my stomach. As if, the hospital food wasn't enough. It's quite a misconception you know, that hospital food is yuck and not digestible at all. I mean, it's actually delicious. Trust me.

"Alright honey", was a quick reply and then I heard the splashing of the water indicating that she had started doing the dishes.

I was sitting on my bed doing some reading. But soon I got bored and threw the magazine slightly to my left side which caused some of its pages to flutter open to page ten. The title of that page caught my eye.

'Is He Ignoring You?', read the bold, sky-blue letters. At once Jasper's image popped up in my mind.

"Is Jasper ignoring me?", I asked myself. There was only one way to find out. In no time I started reading the text below the headline-

Are you tired waiting for him? Didn't he call even once? Is he not replying to you?

Then yes, it might be possible that he's trying to ignore you. But unless you're sure, don't rush into a decision. Here are some tips which might help to make your condition better-

i.Call him or text him. If he's not replying to both, then you must go to his house and check what the matter is.

ii.While explaining the matter, observe his behavior. If he stutters, doesn't look you in the eye and keeps repeating the same sentence or word, then you must know that he's lying and is surely trying to ignore you.

iii.If he tries to avoid going out with you and doesn't spend as much time with you as much as he used to, then he must be worried or is ignoring you.

These mere, printed words were enough to bring tears into to my eyes. So he's definitely trying to ignore me, I thought, sobbing. But why? I mean, it was an accident right? It wasn't like I was trying to bring him down. But maybe, just maybe, he was depressed or something?

"Man! I don't know! I don't know anything", I exclaimed in frustration,throwing the magazine on the floor. Every second of my life was turning into a nightmare. And I could do nothing about it either, except for maybe wail like werewolves.

The whole day passed like that- Maggie asking me every second if I wanted something to eat and I, trying with full effort not swear at her and answer politely, "No mom... Ain't hungry"
