Madison

I hadn't realized I fell asleep until the sound of knocking woke me up. I groaned, getting up to open my door.

"We're going to make Christmas cookies on my channel, and then attempt to build a gingerbread house on Bryce's. We wanted to know if you wanted to help." Mark pleaded. I took my eyes playfully and told him to give me a minute. I was still in my school clothes that grew uncomfortable from sleeping in them. I changed into a pair of black leggings and went to Mark's room and took his soccer sweatshirt that said "Thomas" on the back.

I entered the kitchen and saw Mark and Bryce wearing the uglies Christmas sweaters and Santa hats. I laughed at how ridiculous they looked and stood in between them. They begged me to change into one, eventually giving in due to the annoyance growing.

"Okay, you guys ready?" Mark asked, walking over to his camera. Bryce and I both nodded and he started the camera. He did his little intro and we began with the video. About halfway through the video, the cookies had to go in the oven. Bryce set the timer for 10 minutes and Mark put them in. Mark then paused the camera and went to use the bathroom. I hopped onto the counter as Bryce leaned against it.

"So you're the famous Madison Mark speaks so highly about?" Bryce's head lifted to look at me.

"Oh god. What did he say?" I asked and covered my face. Bryce then told me an embarrassing story Mark had told him one day at lunch. It was at Mark's annual pool party about 5 years ago. I thought I would look cool by acting like a model while walking down the diving board, which only lead to me falling into the pool.

"I cannot tell you how many times Mark had to stop to laugh while telling that one," he laughed after reminding me of how weird of a 13 year old I was. I laughed and looked down at him, our eyes met almost instantly. It was then when I realized that his eyes were a pretty shade of brown.

"You have pretty eyes," I blurted, not looking away.

We sat there in silence, starring at each other. It's crazy to think I had only met this boy hours ago and now I couldn't stop starring at him in awe.

"Sorry about that," Mark came back into the room, causing us to jump away from each other. "After I was done Haillie called and asked about our science project."

I had forgotten what Haillie told me earlier. Desperately wanting to ask him, my thoughts were pushed back by the timer going off. I made a mental note to ask him about it later, maybe when Bryce wasn't around.

Mark groaned loudly as he pulled the cookies out of the oven, revealing black, burnt cookies. They looked more like hockey pucks than cookies. I couldn't help but laugh as he sadly showed the camera.

"Well so much for cookies, make sure to check out Bryce's..." Mark began to say to the camera, but I stopped listening and looked over at Bryce. He turned around and looked back at me, winking. My stomach flipped and I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Ready for video two?" Bryce pulled out his camera. We both nodded and begun filming for his video, which only resulted in a much bigger mess than the cookies had.
