"I'm not moving from this spot until you tell me what's going on!" I cross my arms against my chest and wait for Diana to give me a proper response.

After ushering me inside my room she refused to answer any of my questions, rather trying to distract me with questions regarding my preferred hairstyle for the evening.

"I told you it's the fall festival," she says sighing loudly.

"Yes but what's so special about it? I ask skeptically, remembering Levi's declaration to tell me everything tonight.

"Listen princess-"

A loud knock resounds against the door, interrupting Diana.

The door is pushed open by one of my guards. He bows towards me before stepping aside, allowing Queen Thenora to gracefully walk inside.

Diana immediately bows, whereas I attempt a weird curtsy with my jeans.

The queen smiles at my effort to bow and momentarily turns to glance at Diana.

"You are excused."

Diana bows once more and swiftly leaves the room, closing the door behind her.

I nervously glance at the queen, taking in her amused expression.

She is the epitome of beauty. Her green dress encases her body tightly and flows loosely at the end of the skirt. Her green eyes sparkle with mirth, complementing the shimmering crown of diamonds resting on her brown tresses.

"Kailani, don't you think it's time we had a chat?" She clasps her hands together gently.

"Of course." I usher her over towards the vanity table and motion for her to sit in the chair across from mine.

"What do you want to talk about?" I ask uneasily.

She gazes at me through narrowed eyes and angles her head sideways.

"Why are you staring-"

"What are your intentions towards my son?" She sits against the seat in a dignified manner, making me take notice of my slouched form and sit up straight.

"Excuse me? I find myself stuttering.

"You heard me," she says demandingly.

"I don't-"

"I can't make up my mind about the two of you," she says furrowing her eyebrows in thought.

"Well I think that-"

"Honestly, I don't know if I'm for you or against you yet," she says thoughtfully.

"Well if you let me-"

"I just can't wrap my head around this. You're relationship is a mystery to me."

"It's really not if-"

"Do you think this relationship will even go anywhere between-"

"You know what!" The chair falls to the ground as I swiftly stand up. I am so tired of being interrupted. "Levi makes me smile and he makes me laugh, and sure, we get into our fare share of fights, but at the end of the day he's there for me. He's been more of a friend to me then anyone ever has in my entire life."

The Queens stares at me joyously and carefully stands up from her seat. She makes her way directly in front of me and laughs softly.

"I always did have a good feeling about you! You're strong. I can sense it."

I stare at her incredulously. Is she serious?

She lifts her hand up and smiles at the trinket encircling her ring finger. She then looks towards me and removes it. She lifts my right hand and then slips the ring on my finger.
