Nobody came to see me after Noah left. But it was good. I needed that time to sit and think.

I just gave up one of my biggest secrets. It was probably the hardest thing I ever had to say, and despite Levi's reaction it felt good, right even.

I sat near the bay window, watching the rain descend for what felt like hours. It didn't lighten up one bit; only perhaps increasing in its strength the longer I worried about Merrick's looming presence.

I raised my hand and placed it against the windows glass.

"It'll be okay. I promise." I send a sad smile to the rain, deciding to do something other than sulk in my room for the rest of the day.

I went over to the door and knocked. At first, no one answered, but when I persisted, it finally opened.

"My Queen, is there anything you needed?" my bodyguard, Richard I presume, asks.

"Actually, there is. Can I ask you a weird question?" I was nervous asking but my boredom outweighed my apprehension. I wanted, no needed to do something. "What does a Luna do?"

Richard appears taken aback by my question, quickly glancing over toward my other bodyguard who only reciprocates his astonished expression.

"Excuse me?" He retorts.

"Well, I don't want to be here all day and I thought what better way to spend it then do something a Luna would do, right?"

Admiration passes across Richards' eyes before he quickly answers, "Well you can have tea with the women in the pack, they usually do so around noon, or you can take part in the bake sale that's happening today, or you can visit the children's daycare, or-"

"There's a children's daycare here?" My eyes light up at the prospect of seeing children. They have such a vivacity to them; a spark of life that most of the world loses when they grow up.

"Yes, my daughter actually attends there. It's not that far. I think they've actually brought the children inside the castle today because of the rain."

"Well, can you take me to them?" I assess their reactions, which appear somewhat skeptical as they stare at one another.

Suddenly, a melodious voice resounds from down the hallway.

"Of course my dear! Every Queen should get to know her people, and as Queen should not need permission from her guards to do so. It is a Queens right and duty to be there for her people, no matter what the circumstances."

She expresses a knowing look but nevertheless keeps her usual smile plastered on her face.

The men quickly bow toward their previous Queen.

"Lady Thenora", Richard speaks. " The King has us under strict orders to detain her."

"Hmm." She nods thoughtfully. "Did he use his royal command on you?"

The men quickly shake their heads. "No my Queen," they answer simultaneously.

"Good, then I shall take care of my son. You do as your reigning Queen instructs.

Both men nod before escorting me down the hallway. However, before we can take a step farther, I find myself turning back to hug Thenora.

"Thank you so much," I whisper.

Her body momentarily goes rigid before she hugs me back.

"You're stronger then you look. Don't forget that."

I smile gratefully before following my guards once more.

In the beginning Thenora acted somewhat standoffish toward me, but after getting to know her better, I've come to respect what a gentle, compassionate, and strong woman she is. She stands tall and confident. In some weird way she reminds me of my mom. Honestly, I'm thankful to have her believe in me.
