The wolves approaching us snarl viciously, inching closer, and baring their teeth at us.

Levi immediately pushes me behind his back, standing in front of me in a protective manner. My brother does the same, staying close to my side.

"General," "Levi growls out, keeping his eyes trained on the wolves slowly inching toward us.

"They're coming," he mutters under his breath.

Their easygoing relationship causes a scoff to escape my lips. I can't believe them, acting all chummy with one another.

"Kai, go back to the castle, run as fast as you can-"

"I don't think so general," I reply in a mocking tone. I narrow my eyes and challenge his irritated stare with my own.

"I don't care what the fuck you think you can do, get back," he growls, sending me a last warning glare before turning his sights back toward the rogues.

Levi's eyes narrow at his words. "Blood or not. Speak to her like that again and you die."

Jonny doesn't respond to his threat, barely looking fazed by the venom laced in his words. It's as if he knows that despite the harsh words thrown his way Levi won't hurt him. He won't  hurt him because they have a deep bond, a bond so prominent that when you look at their posture you can tell how in synch they are to one another's movements and thoughts. They act as if they're... brothers.

Anger courses through my veins. How could he? How could he just choose to leave me? Wasn't I good enough?

Every ounce of deceit and betrayal I feel is just waiting to be released as I twitch my fingers excitedly. I really need to punch someone. I ball my hands up into fists and make my way toward them.

Levi holds me back, as if predicting my impulsive thoughts and encloses his hands around my wrists.

"Don't be reckless Kailani, there are about thirty of them, against the three of us," Jonny scolds.

I shrug, feeling confident in my powers.

"Great, ten for each of us," I answer curtly.

"Kai, don't be rash, if dad taught us anything it's to-"

"DON'T!" The power in my voice makes a shudder pass through my brother, but also within the air; I felt it, I saw it. The air in the atmosphere trembled. For that slight second I could have sworn I just saw the air turn into water.

"Did you just command me?" His wide eyes turn to Levi. However, my mate's interest is only on the rogues that wobble backwards at the harshness in my voice.

"To shut the hell up, why yes, yes I did." I turn my hard stare from his to observe the rogues' banding together, appearing to come out of whatever trance they were in.

"You have the chance to leave before you all die," Levi warns in a cold tone, his ruthless gaze never leaving theirs, and seemingly choosing to ignore the sibling rivalry going on behind him.

The leader snarls wildly at his words, extending his canines to show that he isn't going to back down.

"Suit yourselves." Levi shifts into his wolf and howls loudly.

All was silent, every rogue watching the Kings eyes turn darker, harsher than they every thought it could, and then I heard a whistle.

The rogues glance at one another in confusion, cautiously analyzing their surroundings. The whistle becomes louder, stronger, the tune carrying out a soft melody, an echo.
