abia kamin

I woke up in my bed, completely forgetting how I got here. The last thing I remembered was being in the truck with Mateo. I remembered feeling good and high on something indescribable. That was my first time ever seeing Mateo get like that and I told myself I would only let him do it once, but the feeling it gave me was addicting. I wanted to chase that feeling.

My eyes were open but the rest of me refused to move. My bedroom door shot open and my sister Jemmy came in with a smile all too big and bright. The smile soon faded when it landed on me. She gave me a look of terror and I didn't know why.

"Abia, oh my god! What happened?" Jemmy cried out, standing on the edge of the bed to hold my face but I couldn't think of what she was seeing to make her react this way. But her eyes slid from my eyes to my neck and I could've worn she saw a ghost. "Luna! Mom!" She screamed, throwing the blankets from my body. That's when I realized what she must be seeing.

My neck that Mateo bit into. My lips that were swollen. My breasts that had teeth marks. My waist that was fully bruised from how hard he held it. Not to mention my inner thighs that had scratch and teeth marks. I understood how bad this looked.

Luna stormed into the room half dressed with a toothbrush in her mouth. Her eyes widened and she slammed the door shut then locked it before my mother could enter.

"A vampire did this to her!" Jemmy rose her voice with anger. I pulled the covers back up my naked body. Mateo must have fed me his blood because my head no longer felt  fuzzy. But why didn't the marks go away? There's so much inconsistency with this world.

"Um..." Luna stumbled over her words, trying to think of a reasonable explanation as to what could have happened. My mind was blank and I was on the verge of tears. I was scared of my sister. Jemmy was basically a mother and now she was a regent. Fuck. I needed to keep my door locked.

"Is everything okay in there?" My mother knocked on the door. Jemmy stood to open it but Luna stopped her.

"Yes. Everything is fine mom. Just sisterly bonding," Luna lied making Jemmy confused.

"No. Abia is-"

"Abia is tired! We'll be down for breakfast in a second," Luna spoke over Jemmy. Her mouth widened. Panic. I was in a full state of panic. We heard my mother's footsteps go away.

"What is wrong with you? A vampire has broken the treaty and literally raped our sister in her bedroom and you're telling mom that Abia is fine? Abia is not fine! We need to tell dad. He needs to tell the council. We need to get in contact with the delegation. Every vampire in this town needs to be killed!" I barely recognized her. Her hatred for vampires ran deeper than I could have expected. It was clear that she would not react the same as Damon and Luna when they found out about Mateo. But I couldn't let her kill dozens of lives over some conspiracy she created.

"I wasn't raped," I hugged my legs, hiding my head in my knees. There was no escaping this and I had no idea what to do.

"What was that? I couldn't hear," Jemmy sat on the edge of the bed and rubbed my back. Tears flooded my eyes.

"I wasn't raped, Jem," I repeated louder for her to hear. I couldn't look at her eyes because I knew what I would see. Disappointment and shame because she knows I gave myself away to a vampire. Her hand slowly lifted from my back and I looked up at her with my tear filled eyes.

"Who?"

Her body collapsed to the ground after Luna chanted words I didn't understand. "She'll kill him and his family," Luna quickly justified whatever spell she'd performed.
