Chapter 1.
~Mary POV~
Run.
The word goes through my head over and over again as my worn-out boots hit the muddy ground. I hear them behind me. I need to run. Run as fast as I can.
I can't.
I hit the ground with a thud. I roll down the hill, my vision going 360. I finally stop and just stare at the sky.
I can't hear the Roamers any more, in fact I cant hear anything. My eye sight didn't help either, especially when everything is blurry and fuzzy. I just feel numbness; everywhere. I look at the sky in amazement.
How is the world like this yet the sky is so beautiful?
I lay there while, my body eventually shuts down and I close my eyes.
Am I going to die here?
