Mary is asleep. She hasn't woke up in hours but it was fine. We're all still on the road to Virginia. We're about 5 miles away.
I just want there to be a camp. A safe place.
The truck had broke down so now we have three cars. Which was fun with a fussy baby kicking and screaming all the time.
Mary had fallen to sleep on my shoulder and was mumbling in her sleep. 'No, stop, leave him! Let go' She must be having a nightmare or something. I gently shook her and she opened her eyes slowly.
"Oh hey. Are we there yet?" She asked weakly. I shook my head in reply. "Oh okay. Few more miles then."
Dad's car had pulled over so we all did the same.
I could her the cries of Maggie and Noah. Like usual.
Everyone got out the car except from me, Judith and Mary. She was looking at her chain I had bought her.
"I guess you like it then...?" I asked her. She just looked up at me and chuckled.
"Yeah, I've never took it off. It's important." I gave her a confused look and I think she got the gist. "Because you gave me it."
I stared into her dark brown eyes, as we both started to lean in.
Our lips were just about to meet when Daryl knocked on the window. We looked at him awkwardly as he told us to get out the car. We unbuckled our seat belts in silence and got out the car.
I had Judith on my hip as we walked over to where Dad and the rest were.
Mary was standing opposite me but didn't make eye contact at all. I'm so stupid! I've messed up our friendship now with my stupid crush. What? A crush? I don't have a crush.
"We're finally here. Me, Tyreese, Michonne, Noah, Glenn and Maggie are gonna search for this place. You guys stay here." Dad told us before getting into his car and driving away.
"Well I guess we're stuck here." Sasha mumbled.
I went and got back in my car to feed Judith. We were running out of formula and baby food.
When I had feed Judith and put her down, I went back to the group but Mary was missing. Looks like nobody noticed.
"Where's Mary?" I asked Carol, she looked around then grabbed her weapons, ran over to Daryl and whispered something in his ear. His expression changed as we grabbed his crossbow, walking into the forest.
Carol ran over to me and said that they were going to look for Mary and that I should stay here.
Why did she just leave? Or was she taken?
~Mary's POV~
Right now I'm sat in a huge tree. I've been here for about an hour I think.
I don't think the group knows I've gone. Or cares. I just needed to get out.
I'm fed up of sitting in a car waiting for hope because if I'm honest, hope doesn't exist in this world. If it does I damn wish it would hurry up already.
Plus I needed to get away from Carl. I don't want to get attached to anyone. If I do, that means they're just going to die or ditch me entirely like Ollie did. Leave me for someone stronger, prettier. I'm just weak and worthless."Mary! God, where are you?" That sounded like Daryl. Of course Carl realised where I was. "Mary!"
"Daryl, you suck at hide and seek." I shouted down. He heard me but didn't know where my voice came from.
"Just leave me. It's not like you're gonna miss me anyway. I'm just an outcast." I begged.
"Are you out here because you wanna die?" That made me think. I do want to die. Death is the only answer to sadness. I know Mason and Alex are dead. Maybe I should join them. "You only want to die because you haven't been saved yet."
I jumped down from my tree, and walked towards Daryl. I wrapped my arms around his torso and cried into his shoulder. He awkwardly wrapped his arms around me. "Let's get back. Everyone is back by now." He muttered.
We walked back in silence. When we reached the meeting point, everyone was back except for Tyreese. I looked at the ground and saw him with one arm, his skin pale. He was dead.
Everyone was silently crying. Except for me. I don't cry much anymore.
~3 days later~
I'm tired of traveling. Michonne suggested going back to Washington because Eugene had to think of somewhere believable.
I'm still not over Eugene's lie. I'm still pissed but I knew that it wasn't going to work. Something was going to go wrong and it did.
I decided on going in a car with Maggie so I took Tyreese's place. I was sat next to Maggie and Glenn in the back while Abraham and Rosita sat in the front.
"Damn it." Abraham muttered. Rick's car pulled up to our window. "Car's outta gas. We'll find another one in the town."
"There's not a town near by. We can't fit you guys in our cars. I guess walking is our only option." Rick explained. We all got out of the cars and left them in the middle of the road.
We all started walking down the abandoned road with nothing but weapons. I was walking alone, kicking rocks in frustration. I looked in my backpack for some water but I had ran out. Just my luck.
It's hot in Georgia, especially when you're walking miles and miles everyday. Everyone was frustrated and stressed due to the heat and lack of food and water. So they all acted like assholes.
Daryl had just gone to find water with Carol.
Walkers started following us but we didn't have the energy to take them down.
"Hey." Noah said to me walking over,
"Hey Noah. How are you?" That's a stupid question.
"How is anyone anymore?" Noah scoffed.
I was going to reply when I was interrupted by Rick telling us to rest since Noah has a bad leg and Daryl and Carol were not back.
I sat down on a log and pulled out some comics. Carl was eyeing them. I desperately wanted to talk to him but I can't. I can't get close.
Judith started crying but Rick looked so tired and I didn't want to get her of Carl. I bolted over, just about as Carl was going to get her.
"I've got it, get some rest Grimes." I remarked at Carl as I sauntered around the little area we was stuck in. "Shush..." I whispered as she fell asleep.
I strolled over to my log with Judith in my arms, sound asleep. I stared at her innocence and wondered where her Mom was. Or what happened to her.
"Let's get going." Rick said, as Carol and Daryl came over from the woods.
More travelling. Fun.
