"You did not!" I laughed at Glenn.
"I did. I asked him. He told me he liked you!" Glenn smirked, he was telling me about Carl and apparently how much he likes me.
"Stop lying! I don't like him! And he doesn't like me!" I shouted walking away, laughing. Glenn is kinda like a brother to me. A annoying one at that.
We've been on the road for a while now, I say about 4 hours. Except we've stopped now because the truck has broken down again. Some walker must have been court or something.
So in the meantime we decided to chill and keep watch. I was talking to Glenn, Abraham was fixing the damn truck, Eugene was reading a book and Maggie, Tara and Rosita are all on watch.
"Well not what he told me." Glenn said to me but I was walking away.
I sat on the dry floor waiting for the thing to fix when I smelt a horrible smell. I crinkled my nose and I guess everyone else smelt it too from the way they were talking.
I got up to were the rest were. "We're not stopping." Abraham said getting out of the large vehicle.
"Uh... we're stopped?" Tara pointed out and that made me laugh.
We all walked for a few minutes. The stench got stronger as we proceeded to walk. We all stopped and saw a huge herd of walkers about 3 miles away.
"Come on!" Glenn shouted running back to the truck. But Abraham just stood there, mumbling a few words.
"Abraham." Rosita called but he just said that he wasn't giving up or something.
"Come on, we have to go." Maggie commanded, obviously very annoyed.
"No, no we don't. They can't hear us and they can't see us not from here. We're fine." What's his problem?"Because it's gonna be fine." I remarked sarcastically.
"Do we have a map? Or we can just detour?" Tara said from the back.
"We're not doing it. We've detoured and detoured and detoured since Houston to Georgia. We're not playing that game anymore."
"We are not going through this!" Glenn notified Abraham, walking up to him. "Okay? It's not gonna happ-"
"You've got a shit storm behind door A and a storm of shit behind door B. If you're lucky, it's walkers or a shot up truck. But sooner or later you get cornered, you end up staying and you end up killing. We don't go back. We can't go back."
"I'm not talking about going back just south of here."
"No."
"We already hit a full stop because of the truck." Eugene interrupted. "And it will happen again."
"If we go for them then-" I said but got rudely interrupted.
"I'm not saying we just go straight!" Abraham argued.
"That's the way the road goes." Maggie said gently. She's the peacekeeper here.
"We can get through! I know it! And that means we're not going South or going around or going back!"
"No. They're right." Rosita said, sticking up for herself. She's really nice when you get to know her.
Abraham just looked at us and nodded before storming away in a furious rage, grabbing Eugene by the collar and dragging him with him. We all told him to stop and followed after him.
"I'm not letting you do this!" Glenn shouted running after Abraham. Maggie grabbed Glenn, pulling him back, Tara went for Eugene and Rosita pushing Abraham. Which only ended up with her on the floor.
Everyone was screaming and shouting. So I did what I only could do, I grabbed my gun and pointed it up at the sky and pulled the trigger. Everyone stopped what they were doing and put their full attention on me.
"I lied!" Eugene shouted weakly. What? "I'm not a scientist. I don't know how to stop it!" We all looked at each other, unable of what to think.
What person does that? Lies about saving the human race. That little bastard.
I just walked away. I didn't care about anything anymore. I wanted there to be a cure. So I could save the people I love. Avenge them.
I sat down in the middle of nowhere. People died trying to get him here.
"Mary!" Glenn shouted. I turned around and saw Eugene on the floor with blood allover his face.
"What happened?" I said with no enthusiasm in my voice. I grabbed my bandages out of my bag and began cleaning his face up.
He was knocked out cold so it's good for me to but some disinfectant on his sore cheek. His nose and lip was all bruised and bloody.
Sure, I'm mad at Eugene but it doesn't mean I'm gonna leave him to suffer despite if he deserves it.
~hours later~
Eugene still hasn't woke up. Abraham is losing it. He hasn't moved in hours. Just sat there.
Meanwhile Maggie, Glenn and I are trying to fix the truck so we can get back to the church. There's no point in carrying on the mission.
"How's it looking?" Tara calls. She's on watch.
"Pretty good. Just need to refuel and we'll be on our way." Glenn says from underneath the truck.
"We're pretty low on water. Why don't we go and find some?" Rosita urged. To be honest she was right. Abraham had thrown the water in a tantrum after Rosita told him to get up.
"Yeah, we can all go." Glenn suggested.
"I'll stay. I'll keep an eye on him." I answered. After they had all gone, I read some of my comics.
I was reading some of my comics when I remembered that I was with Abraham. I put them in my rucksack and made my way over to Abraham.
"Hey. Look, they are gonna be back soon. You're scarring Maggie and Rosita. Just because there's no cure, doesn't mean you can just give up. You still have Rosita. She cares for you and I know you love her too. You just have to keep surviving; not like you're doing it now or anything. Stop acting like a brat because you're not the only one who lost something today!" I shouted in his face. "Forget it. You don't understand."
I walked back to the fire truck to see Rosita, Glenn, Tara and Maggie all looking at me with sympathy.
"Come on, we've gotta get back." I said climbing into the truck. "Leave him. He's acting like a coward and not accepting it. Let's just go."
They got into the truck but then Abraham also climbed into the front.
"Let's get home."
