40. I love you

Chapter 40 - I love you

I was standing in front of the door of Alfie's hospital room. I was standing here for quite a while already. Now that I knew that William was still around somewhere I didn't really know what to do. He was probably watching me right now. Like he always had. I shivered thinking back about all the horrible things he had done to me.

Automatically my hand went up to my upper arm where five letters were carved in my skin forever. Bitch. It would be there forever. Of course the scars would fade after some time but they would never be completely gone. They'd always remind me of the horrible days I've spend in that shed. The shed that was no more.

I stretched my arm to the door but for some reason I couldn't push myself to actually open it. What was I going to see when I walked in? Poppy and Amanda said he was alright, but was he really? Would he still be my Alfie? I blushed right after I thought this. My Alfie. Would he still want to be my Alfie?

At last I managed to open the door and walk in the room. He was lying on the bed. His eyes were closed, which made me think that he was sleeping. Suddenly I had the urge to get in the bed with him and cuddle up to him. I hadn't done that in months and I missed it so much.

So that's what I did. I crawled on the bed and carefully put the blanket around me. I wrapped my arms around Alfie's body and clung onto him for dear life. Thinking that I had almost lost him a few days ago.

Safe Zoe. That's what he had said. He went after William so he wouldn't escape, but all he really cared about, was me being save. That's why he let Thomas take care of me. I stood a better chance in surviving if a doctor treated me. So Alfie put his pride away and ran after William. Like a real man.

I closed my eyes and lay my head as close as possible to his body. This felt great. I inhaled his body scent and almost burst into tears. He was lying here so peacefully, like nothing happened. Like there never was a simulation. Like there was no William who tried to murder me. Like there never were any threats and I wouldn't have had to shut Alfie out. Like we never broke up with each other.

"I love you," I whispered, a single tear leaving my eyes. "I love you so much."

Then without a warning he turned around and looked me straight in the eyes. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him.

"I love you too," he whispered back, a smile curved on his face. "I love you, Zoe Sugg."

"Alfie," I whispered, not knowing what else to say. I wanted to scream how happy I was that he still felt the same way. But there were no words to describe my happiness. There were no words to describe the relief I felt inside. There were simply no words to describe how madly in love I was with Alfie Deyes.

So I decided to just not speak, but to press my lips against his and I think he understood. He happily kissed me back. A sweet, soft kiss which made my whole body tingle. This was the start of something new. I could only hope that this time, nothing bad would happen anymore and that I somehow, could find a way to revive.
