Almost a year later…

 * John’s POV *

“Wake up, bro.” Lenny shook my body, till I opened my eyes. We were inside the airplane, and have just landed back in Sydney, from a mini tour in the States.

As I opened my eyes, people were already gathering up their bags, ready to get out of this plane, perhaps excited to see their loved ones waiting for them. I hope my girl was waiting for me outside but that would be clearly impossible.

Standing up, I opened the compartment above my seat to get my belongings, and hand Lenny his bags as he was the one sitting in the window seat, while I was waiting for the line to move up and get ready to go home. Though I miss my bed, I have to go out and get some flowers for my girl. It has been my routine every single day I was in Sydney to buy her flowers. The only time I missed would be the days I’d be on tour.

Fortunately since we have been out for a month, we’re having rest days for a week. Yay!

The minute I arrived at my apartment, it was already 4PM. Loading up my suitcases inside the bedroom, I took a quick shower and pulled out casual attire, before heading out to get some flowers.

My phone beeped the same time I went out of the driveway. It was Stacy Waters, asking if I was already back in Sydney, to which I replied yes, and figured I tell her I was about to get her sister’s flowers.

She then said okay, and told me that she along with the whole Waters and Heathers families, plus some close friends, will be waiting for me at the cemetery.  Today’s Kayla’s 19th birthday, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world, which is why Lenny and I took the earliest flight out as the others were still in the States for a few more days, touring around the city since we were basically only allowed a few hours during the trip to venture on our own.

Driving up to the flower shop, I ordered a bunch of Kayla’s favourite flowers, pink tulips. The flower shop owner knows me and has been ready with a bunch of tulips whenever I was in town, for some odd reason, she too knows my schedule, which I’m thankful by the way, lessening the time of wait.

But then again, if it was for my girl, I’d wait unwearyingly.

“Could I also get a dozen of white roses?” I asked Dahlia, the owner of the flower shop. She then nodded, and then asked one of her employees to get me the nicest bouquet.

As soon as she handed me the tulips and the roses, I went ahead and paid right away, excited to see her again after a month of wait.

For someone who was driving up to the cemetery, I was beyond excited. Call me crazy, but that’s how I feel right now. Thinking about seeing her again makes the tiredness and jetlag inside me, burn into ashes.

Parking up, I saw Stacy climbing out of the car in front of me. She waved when she saw me, and waited near the sidelines for me, while the others went ahead to the grave.

“Are the other flowers for me?” Stacy asks, batting her eyelashes in the process.

I shook my head and laughed at how she was acting right now. “Nope, they are for mum.”

Taken aback by my proclamation, she smiled widely for the world to see. “What did you just say?”

Oh. “I meant they are for your mum.” I smiled at the thought I called their mum, my mum.

Please don’t haunt me tonight, mummy Waters.

“I see…” She nodded and smiled before hopping her way to the private grave down the road.
