Lauren's Pov
Pregnant? I couldn't be pregnant; it's too soon. "Lauren, that's great!" JJ looked at me, expecting me to be happy about the news, but I wasn't. I should be, but I couldn't be; not until I had spoken to Derek and I knew how he felt about it.
"Is it?" I knew that that would arouse her suspicions, but I wasn't sure I wanted JJ to know about me and Derek just yet.
"What are you talking about? Of course it is!" I contemplated lying to her, but the nurse spoke, catching both JJ and I by surprise just as I opened my mouth to speak. We had both clearly forgotten she was even there.
"Um... There's more!" What more could the nurse possibly have to tell me?
"What now?" I was sick of this and I just wanted to get out of there, but I couldn't; I had to stay with Emily. I owed her that much after how selfish I had been the last couple of days.
"The blood tests also found some other similarities between yours and Emily's blood." I really didn't get what was so important now that I could no longer donate my blood and she'd already announced my pregnancy. "You're Mitochondrial DNA is a match to Emily's, which means..." I cut her off.
"I know what it means!" It meant that Emily Prentiss was my biological mother.
