Chapter 2

Lauren's pov

I woke up; my head resting on Derek's chest. Last night was an unexpected turn of events; one that I had thoroughly enjoyed. Meeting Derek had turned my scrappy day into a pretty good one. "Morning beautiful." I didn't realise he was already awake.

"Good morning." As much as I loved listening to his heart beating, I had to get home. I eased myself off of Derek's chest.

"Where you going?" Did he want me to stay? It sounded like he wanted me to stay.

"I've got some stuff that needs taking care of." It wasn't the whole truth; but what was one teeny, tiny, little white lie?

"Am I going to see you again?" He actually wanted to see me again; of course, I secretly hoped he'd want to.

"That's up to you!" I was messing with him; making him chase me. He leaned over and kissed me gently on the lips. "I'll take that as a yes!" I replied, and kissed him back. "But right now, I really have to go." As if agreeing with me, Derek's cell started ringing.

"Sorry." He said to me as he answered the phone call. I shook my head showing that it didn't bother me and proceeded to get ready whilst eavesdropping on his phone conversation. "Hotch ... Where? I'll be there in 30." I wondered where he was going and who Hotch was; most likely his boss, but the call must have been important because he grabbed his jeans and hurried to put them on.

"Work?" I asked and Derek nodded as he buttoned up his shirt. I had just zipped up my dress when my own cell started buzzing. I picked up right away. "How many? How long ago? I'll meet you there!" I hung up and grabbed my purse off the floor. "I gotta go. You can let yourself out." I headed for the door, but was surprised when I felt Derek's hand around my waist. He spun me round; my face just inches from his.

"Were you gonna leave without saying goodbye?" Derek pulled me into a passionate kiss, closing the gap between us. I pulled away a minute later and slipped a card into my pocket.

"Goodbye Derek." I turned to face him. "For now at least." I smiled and left him stood in my apartment.
