Garcia's Pov

Everyone knew that Lauren had been hiding something to do with this case, but I doubt any of us were expecting the secret she had kept to be that. I hadn't known her long, but I never really tried to get to know her as a friend. This situation has made me think about and question my reasons behind my decision not to and the only conclusion I could come to was that I didn't like how close she was with Morgan and JJ. I felt like I was slowly losing my best friends and for some reason, I blamed Lauren.

"Garcia?" I looked up, my thoughts interrupted by the sound of Lauren calling to me to join her. I smiled at her nervously as I approached and she picked up on the uneasiness quite easily. "Thank you for everything." Here she was being so nice to me just as she always had, and here I was feeling guilty because I was never all that welcoming of her.

"It's okay." She smiled at me and turned to walk away. "Hey, Lauren?" She paused and turned back. "I'm just... I'm sorry for the way I've treated you. I haven't been much of a friend." I don't know what i expected her reaction o be, but I certainly wasn't expecting the hug she gave me, leaving me speechless and stunned.

Lauren pulled away from the embrace. "I hope that wasn't too weird for you?" It was a rhetorical question, which I didn't answer. "You're right though; you weren't the greatest friend, but you were there when I needed you and that means a lot." After hearing her say that, it hit me. She was right; if someone threatenes a member of my team, then they threaten me too. When it came down to it, I didn't even consider not helping Lauren.
