They sit and talk in the tree house. Dean can feel himself falling desperately for this insomniac with the bright blue eyes that sparkle when they look at him and the black clothes and the hair swept off to the side. He's falling in love with this guy who lights up when talking about bees and loves snow. Dean is thinking about these things as Cas is talking. "Whatch you thinkin about" Cas suddenly asks with a grin. "Just about you" Dean says. "What about me" Cas persists. "Just about how bad i'm falling for you" Dean says. "You know what, me too" Cas says before leaning in and kissing Dean. When they lean out of the touch Dean glances at his watch. "You know we should probably get going, it's gonna get dark soon" he says. "Fine" Cas says before pressing a quick kiss to Dean's lips. They both stand up, grab their backpacks, and walk to the door. Cas climbs down the ladder first and while he's climbing dean looks at the trees with their branches weighed down by the still falling snow. Dean climbs down and Cas puts the ladder back into place. Now that Dean knows it's there he sees where the ladder folds up into. They start making their way out of the woods. They walk hand in hand listening to the crunch of their footsteps. They let go of each other when they step out onto the sidewalk in front of the entrance to the woods. A small group of high schoolers walk on the other side of the street. They walk in silence until they get to where they have to go their separate ways. Cas looks down his street with apprehension. "What's wrong" Dean asks. "Nothing it's just my mom is still mad at me for not coming home when we got stuck in the snow even though I literally couldn't and it's just" Cas says, not finishing his thought. "You want me to stay over tonight?" Dean asks. "No I can't ask that of you" Cas says. "No it's totally fine I have clothes in my backpack i'm set" Dean says. "Why do you have clothes in your backpack?" Cas asks looking at Dean. "I've been know to fall asleep in the library and them forgetting about me so it became a habit of having clothes to change into" Dean says shrugging "I also used to be really clumsy." Cas laughs. "Yeah i'd love it if you stayed over tonight" Cas says. They start walking down Cas's street. Dean texts Bobby that he would be staying at Cas's house tonight. They get to Cas's house and walk in. "Watch this" Cas whispers to Dean. "I'm home" Cas yells out. "Why are you yelling" his mom says walking around the corner in a huff . "You'll get th- oh who's this?" she says seeing Dean. "This is my friend Dean" Cas says "he's gonna be staying over tonight." "You made a friend" Mrs Novak says a little in shock looking at Cas before turning to Dean. "Well hello honey" she says now absolutely pleasant "dinner's in the kitchen." Dean follows Mrs Novak into the kitchen and sees cas's dad and sister sitting at the small table. Cas sits down in a chair and Dean sits in the one right beside him. "Who's this?" Mr Novak asks, looking at Dean. "This is my friend Dean" Cas says. "Well hello Dean" Mr Novak says. "Hello Mr Novak" Dean says. "Oh I like him already" Mr Novak says. "Well let's dig in" Mrs Novak says. Everyone starts getting helpings of lasagna. Dean is a little hesitant but does get some. Cas has a pleasant look on his face but his movements are stiff, like he doesn't want to be in this situation. Dinner seems to drag on but is also over quickly. Everyone helps clear the table and the second the work is done everyone scatters. Mr and Mrs Novak quickly leave the boys and go into the living room and Cas's little sister Hannah runs up to her room, leaving Dean wondering if they avoid Cas. "Come on let's go up to my room" Cas says. They go up the stairs and into Cas's room. Dean barely gets a glimpse of the room after closing the door when Cas pulls him into a kiss. Dean can feel Cas's anger seep out and dissipate. When the kiss is over they're both left a little out of breath. "What was that?" Dean says. "Sometimes I can't stand them" Cas says.
