They get to school and find that they're letting kids into the auditorium because it's so cold. They go through the doors and walk a little ways until they get to the auditorium. They enter and Cas flinches a little at the sudden increase in the noise level. Almost the entire school is in there. They go up to the front where it's not as crowded and sit down next to each other. They talk a little but soon it's time to go to homeroom. Dean leaves Cas in front of the auditorium and heads to his locker. He puts his stuff away and goes to homeroom where he reads while the teacher talks about a fundraiser at church this Sunday. He listens a little but isn't very interested. The bell rings and he goes to his first class. The day goes by and nothing really happens. Lunch comes around and Dean and Cas find out they have a free period next. They get their lunch and sit down at an empty table. "So you wanna like go up to the band room and hang out for the free period?" Dean asks idly. "Yeah sure" Cas says before taking a bite of his pizza. Benny and Kevin come over and sit at the table. "Hi" they say to both of them. "Hi" Dean says. Cas just nods. Dean talked to them as they all ate their lunches. Cas didn't say much. When lunch is over Dean and Cas throw their trash away and head off to the band room for their free period. They're not supposed to leave the school during free period and even though technically they could be anywhere they want if they didn't disrupt anything, most people hung out in the library so the band room would be empty. They go into the band room with its chairs strewn across the room and instruments neatly tucked into their cases and close the door. No one is in there so they are all alone. Cas pulls Dean out of view of the window on the door and presses a soft lingering kiss to his mouth. "I'm not much of a fan of big crowds" Cas says. They stand close together, breathing the same air, each looking into the other's eyes. The moment is pristine and Dean can't help but wishing life was always like this. Cas leans forward and Dean closes the gap, their lips meeting in the middle. Dean feels like nothing else matters except this moment but suddenly the bubble he is in pops. He hears the door open and then a gasp. Their eyes snap open and they move away from each other, turning to look at the teacher standing in the doorway. Her mouth hangs open and the books in her hands slip from her grasp. They stare in shared horror as she slowly starts to regain the ability to think. "Principal's office NOW" she yells pointing into the hall. Dean can't form a coherent thought. Cas doesn't look like he's taking it any better but takes Dean's hand and pulls him into the hall. They walk quickly to the principal's office, the teacher right on their heels. "Sit" the teacher says firmly pointing at some chairs sitting right outside the office. They sit down and the teacher walks into the office. Dean stares blankly at the floor trying to comprehend what just happened, his hand still holding Cas's. Students walk past, whispering to each other. Dean can hear yells coming from the office. "Hey Dean, what's going on?" Benny asks walking up to them. Dean doesn't do anything but Cas raises their intertwined hands for a moment before letting them drop back down. Realization spreads across Benny's face and he gasps. Cas rubs his thumb over Dean's hand trying to calm him down and the motion helps. Dean looks over at Cas and sees him looking firmly at the floor. The teacher bursts out of the office in a huff and stomps down the hall. The principal comes out and though he looks a little disappointed he talks calmly. "You're parents have been informed of this but we can't actually send you home so you will have to stay for the rest of the school day" he says. They both nod, not saying anything, and stand up. The principle looks at the students crowding around gawking and shoos them away. Cas and Dean go to the library for the rest of their free period. They never let go of each other's hands.
