When Dean completely calms down he slowly pulls out of Cas's grasp. Cas puts his hands on Dean's shoulders and looks him in the eyes. "Are you okay" he asks. "Didn't I just ask you that yesterday" Dean laughs feebly. "Seriously" Cas says, a look of worry on his face. "Yeah I'm fine" Dean says as Cas uses his thumb to wipe a tear off of his cheek "it's not like i'm not used to it." "Okay" Cas says, not looking completely convinced. They get ready and head downstairs. Sam and Bobby are already gone so it's just them. They eat breakfast and head to the door. Right before they leave Cas turns to Dean. "You ready?" Cas says softly. "Yeah" Dean says. Cas presses a quick kiss to dean's lips before opening the door. They walk outside and Dean locks the door. They start walking to the school. "So I was wondering," Dean says "what do I do before I wake up from a nightmare? Bobby's only ever seen me after I started screaming and there's not much after that that I'm not conscious for so I really don't know what I do." "Well first it was just rustling" Cas says "like you were uneasy. Then it was you shaking your head a lot. Then you started crying and then that lead to screaming. Soon after that you started flailing around and I woke you up." "Wow I'm sorry for putting you through that" Dean says, looking at Cas. "It's okay" Cas says, looking at Dean and grabbing his hand. "So what are the dreams about" Cas says "if you want to say, I don't wanna push it." "Mostly fire" Dean says. "It starts normal, my parents tuck me in and I go to sleep but then the fire wakes me up and engulfes me." "How often do you have these nightmares?" Cas asks. "Oh I dunno, it fluctuates" Dean says "sometimes it'll be once a month and sometimes it'll be twice a week." "Wow I'm sorry" Cas says. "That's coming from you" Dean laughs softly, leaning into Cas as they walk. The make it to the school's parking lot and a small path seems to open up a around them in the loose crowd. Dean can feel his courage wane a little as they walk deeper into the accusatory stares and whispers. They walk to their spot against the wall still holding hands. He looks over at Cas and sees him set jaw and determined and thinks that they can really do this. "You wanna relax a little" Dean whispers in Cas's ear. Cas bursts out laughing. Dean laughs a little, Cas's laugh being as contagious as it is. Cas finishes laughing and looks out in front of him at the playground. His face falls a little as Hannah runs past them, hesitating momentarily when she sees him but then continuing running. Cas sighs and his head hangs a little. "Hey" Dean says, wrapping an arm around Cas. Cas leans into Dean, resting his head on his shoulder. "I was hoping at least she would still talk to me" Cas says. His relationship between his sister hasn't been the best but he obviously loves her. "It's okay, Hannah will talk to you again soon enough" Dean says. Cas raises his head and presses a kiss to Dean's lips. Dean can hear some muffled shrieks coming from the crowd and wonders if they should really be doing this. He breaks away away and looks into Cas's bright blue eyes and all doubt washes away. Benny walks up to them a little hesitantly. "Hey Dean-O, Cas" he says. "Hi" Dean says. Cas raises a hand but doesn't say anything. Gordan walks past and gives all of them a death stare before walking off. They just follow his progression with their heads, not saying anything. Dean is the first to look back and he shakes his head a little. Cas looks back next. Benny still looks at where Gordan disappeared into the crowd. He blinks and looks back at Dean. "So he's actually your boyfriend" he says. "Yep" Dean says. "I would never have the guts to do that" Benny says. Dean internally facepalms but keeps a pleasant face. "It's not too hard" he says leaning into Cas next to him. The bell rings and Benny waves goodbye. They walk up to the doors, a small bubble around them. "You ready" Cas asks. "Yeah" Dean says as they enter.
