They walk up to the door of the church and having already figured out what they were going to say as they walked over here, go on in. They walk up the hallway to Pastor Chuck's office but Dean pauses outside the door. "You sure about this" Dean says to Cas. "Yes" Cas says, squeezing Dean's hand before letting go to knock on the door. "Come in" a voice calls from behind the door. Cas opens the door and walks into the small office, Dean right behind him. The room is comfortably furnished with a sofa and table against one wall and a desk in front of the other. Pastor Chuck sits behind the desk with papers strewn about. "How can I help you boys?" he asks pleasantly. Dean doesn't detect anything else in his voice and relaxes a little. "We wanted to ask you if tomorrow we could make an announcement" Cas says. "What about" Pastor Chuck asks. "Well everyone seems to think that is" Cas gestures at him and Dean "being together is a bad thing and we want to try to convince them that it's really not." "Well that sounds like a good thing to make an announcement about" Pastor Chuck says "I'll let you boys say your piece before we start so that they'll listen." "Thank you so much" Dean says before they leave the office. "That went surprisingly well" Dean says as they walk to the doors. Cas breathes a sigh of relief. "Yeah no kidding" he says. They walk out into the brisk air and stop in the parking lot. "So what do we do now?" Dean asks. "Well I was thinking we could hang out in the treehouse and figure out what we're gonna say" Cas says, squinting as he looks ahead of them. "Okay" Dean says with a smile. They start walking towards the woods. Dean grabs Cas's hand and moves closer to him. This is partly because he's cold but he's not going to admit that to Cas. "So are you actually going to tell me what you're gonna say" Dean asks. "Nope" Cas says "I want it to be a surprise." "Okay" Dean says. They walk in a comfortable silence to the woods where they dive into the sea of trees. Dean let's go of cas and walks ahead a little, gazing at the scenery. Dean walks backwards to look at Cas and Cas smiles. Dean smiles back and stops to let Cas catch up. As Cas walks by Dean turns around and walks beside him. They get to the treehouse and climb up the ladder. Cas walks in but Dean takes a moment to look at the elevated view of the trees and snow. The snow has started to melt a little so he hears the pitter of falling snow every once in awhile. Dean turns around and walks into the small room. He sits down on the beanbag next to Cas, who is scribbling something into a small notebook. They talk a little bit but mostly they just figure out what they want to say tomorrow. Eventually Dean gets a text from Bobby telling them to get home for dinner. They get up and leave, taking their notes with them. They make it back just in time for dinner. Sam was even already at the table. "What did you guys do today" Bobby asks as they all grab food. "Literally nothing" Sam says. "We hung out all day" Dean says. "Where" Sam asks. "None of your business" Dean says. Sam raises his eyebrows. Dean rolls his eyes. Cas is sort of oblivious having probably only been half listening. After dinner they go up to Dean's room and after taking off their shoes, sit down on the bed. Dean grabs his laptop and finds a movie to watch. They watch a couple movies, Dean leaning against Cas. Dean tries to stay up but falls asleep at around two in the morning, his head resting on Cas's shoulder. Dean wakes up about an hour later to find he is laying down in his bed with the covers laid over him, Cas nowhere to be seen. When the cloud of sleep disperses a little he starts to sit up but Cas comes into the room. He has an cookie stuck between his teeth and is reading a book. Dean squints from the light in the hall but opens his eyes when Cas closes the door, they only light now coming from a flashlight. Dean smiles to himself and lays back down as Cas climbs into the bed, never taking his eyes off the book.
