As usual, I took the long route. It began to get dark and it made me more nervous than I thought I would be. There was no light so I used my phone flashlight. The roads were icy so I I had to make sure I would not slip like I did when I was was little. Then I heard a thump. I turned around. I started thinking. I'm gonna get Christina Scott back. I just am. Wether she likes it or-
"Kristen!" I look up and find William, my best friend/guy looking right at me. I jump quickly then relax. He grabbed my arm and pulled me into him. "I'm sorry I scared you." He giggled as he released me. We began walking down the old street.
"Sure you are!" I said smiling. William and I became friends in 3rd grade. Some people think we should be more than friends but we believe not to get into peer pressure.
"How was Soccer practice?"
"More like I got hit in the face practice!" He stopped walking.
"Don't tell me it was Christina who did this." My silence was his answer. " I'm gonna kill that little Brat!" He clenched his jaw and stopped smiling he looked like he was gonna punch someone. Which I was willing to see but not now. It was the beginning of March and the roads have not cleared yet. Us walking down our favorite road, Everest street makes life better for me. When we were in middle school, everyone walked this road to school. Then people started to move away. Not us. At the start of freshman year, William and I would walk to school and laugh about anything as could think of. It was great. Now I knew my best friend would ruin this if we even mention her name so I changed the subject.
"What are you guys doing, since Basketball seasons over?" I know William and he loves his basketball.
"We're going to the movies and going to watch March Madness."
"That was not fair!" I said jumping in the ice puddles waiting for my feet to drop.
"It is when your coach is crazy working you out!" After the last puddle, the street ended and we were at my house. My happy place.
"Well I'll see you later!" I said giving him a hug and running up to my front door.
"See you tomorrow. Text me." I nodded as I tried to find my keys. I looked at the street and William was gone. Until tomorrow. I was too busy watching the street that I dropped my keys on the welcome Matt. I drop down to my knees and look for the keys but it was snowing so hard I could only feel them. Then I see the door open.
"Hey sweetheart!" I smiled as my mother opened the door.
"You realize that it's your turn to cook dinner right?" I said as I entered my home with all the lights on.
