It's eleven a.m. and we are about to leave Yo's house to head to the mall, I asked Nora to drive us there and I texted Frank and Karen that I'm alright and where I'll be going.
"Are these outfits really necessary? "
Yo-kun says wearing sunglasses, a beanie, and a decent hoodie that's not dirty and ripped.
"Yes! I don't want to draw attention to ourselves, you don't normally see people with black eyes and horns and a bunch of scars all over them everyday. " I say
The last thing I want is people staring at them like they're criminals or something. Especially at the mall.
I hope taking them to a place like this helps them become more civilized and help them learn more about how to live a normal life.
Nora opens their garage door where inside there's a two hummers one black, one silver.
She gets inside the black one and pulls out in the drive way
Damn these people got really good cars.
"Well shall we go? " Segi says wearing sunglasses and a hoodie covering most of his horns.
"Yes! Get in, My friend Lucas is going to meet us there. " I say making this trip sound exciting which sort of is since it's the first time I'm going somewhere with Yo-kun.
We all got in and the boys sat in the back while I sat in the front with Nora.
"Seatbelt boys, I already taught you how to put it on. " Nora says as she watches Them put it on from the mirror.
After we all buckled up she drives off.
It got really quiet in the car, no one talked.
This is really awkward...
"Uhh hey! Let's turn on the radio yeah?! "
I switch on the radio and Stiches by Shawn Mendes plays
I love this song!
Nora and I both look at each other and smile, I'm assuming she likes this song too.
"You watch me bleed until I can't breathe, I'm shaking falling onto my knees, and now that I'm without your kisses, I'll be needing stitches!" we sing out laughing
Who knew Nora can be this cool?!
"What are you guys doing? " Yo-kun
asks with a straight face
"We're singing! " I say still laughing
"Singing? " Yo-kun asks with his head cocked to one side.
Nora taps my shoulder and I lean my head
"He doesn't know what singing is or dancing and such things. " Nora whispers
"Oh. Right, I forgot. " I say frowning
Of course he wouldn't know what singing is.
"Singing is like a musical sound you make with your voice! " I say looking back at Yo-kun
"Music is what's playing right now on that little radio " Segi says pointing at the radio.
"To play music you need to have instruments too like- "
"Ok I get it. Music is just a bunch of sounds. " Yo-kun says bluntly interrupting me.
I frown at him and turn back to my seat
Guess he has no interest in music.
"By the way Maddie you have a lovely voice! Have you ever considered being a professional singer? " Nora asks
I've always gotten compliments on my singing from kids at school, they say it sounds so angelic that they always insist that I star in their talent shows, plays, or even sing the national anthem during assemblies. Of course I declined all of them, it's because of H.M.E. I have this voice and I refuse to take advantage of it.
