Inhumane

Chapter 24

I go downstairs to check all the ruckus I've been hearing coming from   downstairs.

Who the hell is making all that noise at seven in the morning?

I peep my head into the kitchen and I Segi rolling around the island counter  with a chewed up, mutilated dead duck in his hand. He's shaking, his eyes are bloodshot and cursing under his breath.

What the hell?

"Segi are you okay?! " I rush over to him.

"I'm fine Maddie go back to bed. " he replies with his voice trembling.

"No you are not Segi what's wrong?! " I demand.

He's silent for a moment. "No no no everything is fine! Please go back to bed. " he insists.
He chews off the ducks head and swallows it whole. Each bite he takes the more agonizing his face looks.

What's wrong with him?

"Segi I'm not leaving unless you tell me what's going on with you!" I put my hand on his shoulder and he jumps away from me and bangs his body to the trash can startling me.

"M-Maddie I can't tell you- all you need to know is that you need to keep Izumi with you at all times! ALL times! you hear me! " he's practically is yelling at me like a lost,scared little boy

"Segi what are you talking about?!"

"Don't question itand just do it! " he pauses "Please Maddie."

"Ok?"

Lunch was super awkward. There's something going on between the boys and none of them won't tell me what's going on.
Nora served us Philly cheesesteaks and as I was feeding Izumi his special food they didn't even exchange words to each other, nor look at each other. As soon as they gobbled their food they ran up to their room and haven't came out since. Nora has no clue what's going on either and said they never acted this way before. This was starting to concern me.

Maybe I'm just I'm overthinking this? No I can't be...maybe?
I groan in frustration and Izumi tugs on my toes bringing me back to reality.
We are sitting on the carpet of the living room watching old kiddy shows like The Teletubbies, I refuse to show my son the crappy new shows tv makes now these days.
Izumi loves the Teletubbies especially LaLa because yellow is his favorite color.

"Where's daddy? " he looks up

"Sweetie don't try to talk to him today, he's not in his best mood." I tell him.

"What about uncle Segi?" He asks

"Him either. Just stay with me today." I smile and I put him on my lap and continue to watch the show together.

It's been seven hours. Seven dreadful hours. After watching the Teletubbies we both fell asleep together and when I woke up izumi didn't. He was asleep but he didn't wake up no matter how loud I yelled his name or how aggressive I shook him.
The boys both came down and called Donovan and Frank for help. They took him to the lab and haven't came out since.All I could do is just sit and wait.

Nora brings me a cup of coffee and sits down next to me.
"He'll be fine. I'm sure it's nothing."

"Nora it's been seven hours! Obviously it's not nothing! " I say worriedly

She doesn't say anything and pats my back and our heads look up and see Donovan coming towards us

Finally.

"Well?! What happened!!?" I ask

"He grew a bit more. He's starting to grow out of his toddler years. I think this long nap he had makes him grow. Before today when he slept at night that's how he grew, I think we noticed that now because he fell asleep during the day and never woke up till seven hours later. I think we'll be experiencing his surprise un wakening naps starting now. "
